There really isn't much to do in old town. During the day on your first visit its quaint and pretty. After an hour it's more dull then listening to Congressional minutes. Lots of semi aggressive panhandler's if you're into that. At night there are about 10 unimaginative bars to go watch recently post-pubescent people get blasted out of their minds and alcohol. So old town has that going for it which I guess is nice. At night there is a bar called Surfside that has really good bar food and the best jukebox in Fort Collins mostly Punk themed music. During the day you should go to firehouse books, a really groovy quaint bookstore with a wonderful staff and attached to it is a really good tea shop if you're into tea. Right outside of Old Town there is a vintage record store / used book store called Bizarre Bazaar great staff awesome owners good deals it's really worth going to. Google it...
Read moreThe old town square still represents Fort Collins' spirit, and not just the good stuff. It represents the city that puts out new flowers and decorates with lighting in winter, and the ice skating or the dancing waters. It represents the good people, the young couples coming with their kids, and the old ones that come to see the kids playing. The music teacher that comes with the cello band to practice, and we all enjoy the music. The crazy guy that looks homeless that sits on a public piano and plays it so well that you imagine that you are at a theater. The lady that sits there and laughs every time that the water comes out of the fountain. It represents the local businesses, some new, some old, with the good and with the bad. Still a super nice place to hang out, with or without kids, purchasing a coffee or just sitting there...

I will miss Fort Collins for sure playing piano and singing with fast Eddie jamming out til the wee hours of the night 🌃. Even the cops there are cool they don't bother any of us as long as we were not acting total idiots and such .
