Found this hotel on Google, pictures looked nice enough and I typically prefer a boutique hotel to a chain where possible. Had to check in here at the last minute due to the drive through the mountains taking far longer and more stressful than expected, so arrived about midnight. Front desk staff was super friendly and helpful, for which I was grateful for 👍. Unfortunately the room was on the second floor. It smaller than expected, the view was of the dumpster 👎. Soon after I discovered that the ac directly above the bed was leaking directly into the artwork and also my pillow, I was so terribly tired so just slept at a different angle to avoid it👎. Then at 3am was rudely awaken by loud screaming and yelling next door - couldn't tell if it was a drunken party or a fight, called the front desk and they said they'd take care of it. It continued to be loud for about 20 mins.👎When I checked out in the morning the new front desk staff inquired as to my stay and I reported all of this - he apologized & said that the best he could do was comp my $15 parking and offer me a free drip coffee from the pot in the lobby ( because I booked through a third party app apparently, it was too late the night before so I hadn't realized it would've made a difference because it certainly cost the same when I checked on their website). 👎The room was $180 for the night. I really wouldn't recommend staying here unless you required the proximity to the school or a business etc. I regret not going with my 2nd or 3rd choice - There were multiple alternatives that were more affordable + included breakfast that I could have selected that I most likely would have found more satisfactory of a stay overall. Once you are inside you can tell upon close inspection how they superficially made over the space, it was a different hotel before apparently and they probably could've done a bit more extensive of a renovation to improve the overall experience.

We stayed at this hotel for a week last summer and were so impressed by the decor. The lobby especially is fantastic—stylish, cozy, and original, with a touch of the 1920s that feels classic and not at all shabby. It was a great first impression. However, the room itself and the housekeeping were a bit of a letdown. For a week-long stay, the housekeeping was the bare minimum and we even had to ask once for our room to be cleaned. When we did, the front desk staff didn't seem too pleased with us. We were lucky to get a quiet room at the back, but it was more of a view of the side of a building rather than anything scenic. While the room was stylish and well decorated, it was also tight. There was hardly any space for our luggage, and we had to squeeze past the bed. Overall, the hotel has a lot of charm and great style, but the room size and lack of proactive housekeeping weren't ideal for a longer visit.

Beautiful boutique in the heart of Old Town Fort Collins. We had a suite and it was comfortable and charming. This is a pricey hotel but worth it because they are dog friendly and you can’t beat the location. Staff was wonderful too, always pleasant and helpful. A few cons were for a hotel this beautiful and pricey the toilet paper should be upgraded, it was thin and basic, expected better. Parking is difficult and there is a fee. There was unseasonable rain the days we were there and there was a water leak coming through the light fixtures on second floor lobby where we were staying. That was as little concerning. Biggest inconvenience was trying to find plug outlet near my bed stand. Maybe it was just our particular room that had this issue. Over all though the location is great, the beds were comfy and the staff was so nice.

This review is going to be a long one, because the staff at the Armstrong deserve recognition for everything they do, which is a lot! We were planning on getting married on 10/13/17 (spoiler, we got married), and we wanted to spend our wedding night at the Armstrong. I called months in advance to book a room, only to be told the hotel was booked solid because the dates I was looking at were the dates of CSU Homecoming weekend! I quickly started checking other hotels in town only to see that they too were either booked, or filling up fast! The receptionist on the phone at the Armstrong told me they could put me on a waitlist, and I agreed.

I end up booking a room at the Marriott. The Executive-whatever-big-AF room. Perks included: access to a lounge that would be closed during our stay, early check-in, and the ability to cancel with no fees up until the day before the reservation.

Then, about 5 weeks before the wedding, the Armstrong calls and tells me that they have an opening for that weekend, and I am on the waitlist and the room is mine if I want it. So I skeptically ask, which room? Thinking, it would be the smallest closet room they have. NOPE. THE BIGGEST ONE they have, on the corner, overlooking College Ave! WHAT! Alright, how much will it cost though? WHAT?! LESS THAN THE AMENITY-LESS ROOM AT THE MARRIOTT??

Sold. Booked on the spot. Cancelled the Marriott room. See, this hotel room was also where myself and my bridesmaids would be getting ready for the big day, so we needed space, and beauty for pictures! The Armstrong was what I wanted and what I was going to get! They even explained to me how to go about arranging an early check in, and made an exception for me, in that I only wanted the room for one night.

But folks, it gets better.

Literally with 5 days to go before the wedding I realized that it would make my life SO MUCH easier if I had the hotel room on Thursday (day before the wedding) as well as Friday (wedding day). I called the Armstrong and said, "I know this is a long shot, and you can laugh at me if you want, but what are the chances I can book that room for the night before as well?" Chances were zero. But not really. The staff checked their schedules, and actually transferred the person who was booked in my room into another room so that I could have it for an additional night! The person they transferred went into the same room, but a floor or two above us, so no harm there as they would be checking out on Friday.

Fast forward to Thursday, when we show up to check in, Morgan at the front desk has very professionally colluded with my mother who wanted to surprise us with picking up the bill for the hotel. Additionally, the staff helped our bridal party surprise us with champagne and flowers in our room, and there were two drink tickets to Ace Gilettes for us on our pillows when we got inside!

I am sure we were not easy on the other guests over those two days, coming and going, crying, yelling about last minute potential disasters as the wedding drew closer and closer, calling for more towels, and in general making an mess of a perfectly lovely hotel room with make up powders, packaging from the dresses and flowers, etc. Family and friends coming and going all day long to help prepare or stop by to say "Hi" and helping the driver we hired to take me and my girls to the wedding get us out of the hotel room and into the car!

But the morning after the wedding, Saturday, Morgan even brought me aspirin to help ward off a monster headache. I answered the door with smeared makeup, matted hair, and a skimpy robe, and she looked ready-to-work fresh with a smile on her face. She was so friendly, understanding and patient with us, we could not have asked for a better person to help us through those stressful two days.

What the Armstrong did for us, was help make our wedding day perfect. This was something we had written off as not being a possibility for us on our wedding day, and they made it happen. I am running out of characters but they (and Morgan)...

Newly renovated with a cool vibe, the Armstrong Hotel offers a great location in a fun, college town. The guest staff at the desk were efficient, warm and helpful. Amenities like the Nespresso machine and wonderfully-scented bath products were much appreciated. The bed, bed linens and pillows were comfortable and luxe. With a few tweaks, the hotel could be top notch.

The most pressing issue for the Armstrong is noice mitigation. The train that rattled through twice during the night with its horn blazing just didn’t allow for a good night’s sleep. We heard our neighbor’s conversations through the adjoining room door. I could hear their hair dryer as if it was in our room. The restored fir floors, while gorgeous, don’t provide a sound buffer. I’d suggest white noise machines and earplugs in guest rooms, as we had in a beautiful boutique hotel in Charleston faced with “noise challenges”, too.

Our kitchenette needed a few more amenities: paper towels, plates/utensils and a waste basket in the area would be helpful. The bathroom had only two bath towels. With no turndown service and little space to hang drying towels, this was inconvenient.

Having paid a room rate of $300+ for our last minute, one night stay (it was CSU graduation, unbeknownst to us) I can’t say our brief visit was worth the money. However, I understand the surcharge is not uncommon on high demand weekends. I will say the $20 valet charge to self park was not appreciated. I was told the hotel is waiting on the City to repurpose the spaces in front of the property before valet can be offered. Perhaps refrain from charging until the service is functional?

Overall, it’s a nice spot. If they can work through some details, it...
