The Elizabeth Hotel, Autograph Collection is a gem located in the heart of Old Town Fort Collins. This luxury Fort Collins hotel features deluxe amenities, locally loved dining, an energetic live music venue, & a chic rooftop lounge with mountain views. I'm originally from Fort Collins so I couldn't wait to experience everything The Elizabeth had to offer.
We arrived at The Elizabeth and headed inside the hotel to check in. There was no valet but there was a parking garage directly adjacent to the hotel with ample parking for hotel guests & there were luggage carts in the lobby for our use. The lobby of the hotel was beautiful & engaging with crown molding, a spiral staircase, and an array of local artwork showcasing Fort Collins’ fun-loving, laid-back personality. The front desk staff were quick with service and provided a seamless check-in. Once we received our room keys, we headed up to the 5th floor.
We had the privilege of staying in the Music Suite & this suite was stunning. The suite captured the elegant embodiment of music with black & white finishes (highlighting the baby grand piano in the room) to bronze metal elements, like the ornate chandelier in the kitchen inspired by brass instruments. The suite featured a living room with a seating area, a state-of-the-art sound system, an oversized soaking tub, a full kitchen, and a spacious balcony with sweeping city views. We couldn't get enough of this suite! The King-sized bed was so comfortable, and we slept like babies.
We took advantage of the 'Pamper Your Pup' package and Forbes was treated to a small bag of doggie snacks, customized bones, toys, & a food/water bowl from The Elizabeth's local pet friendly partner Wagz.
The entire hotel was pet friendly, so we were able to take Forbes throughout the property. With The Elizabeth being in the heart of Old Town Fort Collins, we had so many great walking routes to choose from. Needless to say, Forbes got to play and take in the city with us which was a special treat.
During our stay at The Elizabeth, we dined at their restaurant - The Emporium: An American Brasserie - twice (once for dinner & once for brunch). We were very impressed with the food quality and level of service on both visits. It was so nice to be able to stay onsite at the hotel, relax, unwind and have creative dishes & stellar hospitality at our fingertips when it came to dining.
Once we finished with brunch at The Emporium, we headed to the front desk to rent two electric bikes. We took the bikes and explored Old Town Fort Collins and Colorado State University's campus. CSU is where Ross and I met, so it was really fun & sentimental to ride around & reminisce. We were able to cover a lot of ground easily on the bikes and got to check out our favorite CSU spots.
Following our bike ride, we headed back to The Elizabeth to grab an afternoon pick-me-up at their coffee shop, Bowerbird Coffee. Here we enjoyed two Chai Tea Latte's and chilled in the cutie seating area attached to The Emporium.
For a night cap, we ended our night at The Elizabeth's live music venue - Magic Rat. The place was popping - Rudy Love Jr. and the Encore played when we visited and they had the entire room on their feet, dancing and having the best time. Magic Rat certainly delivered entertainment & good vibes.
The Elizabeth Hotel represents the best of Fort Collins, and we look forward to staying here again...
Read moreI liked the hotel well enough. Unfortunately, it's so short-staffed that they have very limited hours when the restaurants/bars are open. The majority of our stay they were completely closed. The AC worked well. It was fun going through the records to take back to the room. I tried to get our mobile key working, but the front desk couldn't find our reservation and said they'd talk to the manager and get back to me. I never heard from them. The connection on the TV to hook up your streaming services did not work at all. You have to access tv.marriott.com, but that link would never load. I called the desk about that, and the girl just told me to use Chromecast - but you have to have that equipment to do so...and they didn't. So TV was limited. Couldn't watch Sunday football!!!!! I'm a platinum elite Bonvoy member with lifetime silver tier, and I attempted to use my suite night awards when booking the stay. We were told when we checked in that they weren't able to accommodate that due to the fact that they were fully booked with 2 weddings there that night (Saturday). That made sense as my husband said he couldn't find one spot in the parking garage when we arrived, and I told the gentleman that we'd be willing to move the next day to something with more room to use our suite nights since so many were leaving the next day. He acknowledged what I said but pretty much ignored it, and I got the feeling he didn't want to mess with it. So, we decided to try again the next morning when the big parties had left. We went down to the desk, and the lady there was super friendly, and I told her the same thing - we're there for 3 more nights and would love to have some more room and would be happy to move. She said she'd work on it, and I went back up to pack. I then got a call saying she'd been mistaken and that the hotel was oversold the following night (Monday) and that we were already in one of the nicer rooms (542), so we should just stay there. The room itself was fine, but it did look out over the parking garage, and the refrigerator was missing from the cabinet it used to be in. Each day during our stay, there were almost NO cars in the parking garage, hotel didn't seem busy, and when I looked to see if you could still book rooms, there were a dozen or more room 'types' available - not just rooms. So we weren't given accurate information when they claimed they were oversold. That's really unfortunate, and that's what we left most unhappy about...
Read moreFrom the moment you step into the lobby, it becomes very obvious you are in for a royal treat. The thought of any of the sterile cookie cutter like hotels is vanquished from memory with the ambience of The Elizabeth encapslating you immediately. Your greeted by anywhere from 2 to smiling doormen/valets with a cheerful "Welcome to the Elizabeth Hotel", and helping hands. The openess of the lobby and sitting area are wonderful as is all of the decor, which continues throughout the hotel with the placement of unique reminders of the musical theme The Elizabeth Hotel presents. A welcoming sense of security is found when entering the elevators, as they require a keycard to function. The vestibules off of the elevators are large, as are the hallways leading to the guest rooms. First impressions last, and the crispness of the guest room itself certianly is memorable, as are all of the amenities within the room. From the decor, to the bedding, which feels just as comfortable it appears, to the phonograph and lps, much thought went into the flow of the room. The bathroom is spacious and equipped with soaps, lotions, shampoo and conditioner that smell wonderful, and I for one would love to know the housekeeping secret of how after every shower I took, the glass shower doors upon drying remained spotless. Placement of outlets and usb ports in the room are a great touch, as well as the desk chair and comfortable lounge chair. I enjoyed the offerings from room service, and the ease and speed of ordering and receiving a few cocktails and a scrumptious meal. Additional beverages were enjoyed at the Emporium, Magic Rat, and the Sunset lounge, each with their own pleasant atmosphere. I enjoyed a wonderful breakfast at the Emporium, served by a very busy, yet attentive waitress. Some friends stayed at the hotel one of the nights I was there, and I was fortunate enough to spend some time in the Ram suite they were staying in. The suite was more like a high end condo or loft I have enjoyed in larger cities than Fort Collins, and made me quite curious of the other suites available at the hotel. I enjoyed an exquisite time during my stay, and it is certainly an experience to EXPERIENCE all The Elizabeth...
