Since the storm, the Town of Fort Myers Beach has closed the mooring field, abandoned its tenants & closed shore access to boaters still floating, yet immobile, from Hurricane Ian. They have blocked access to the previously primary access point, and as traffic flowed to alternative landing sites, they've sent cops and barricade crews to shut down access. With one dock left undamaged by the storm they drop all pretense and just guard it at gunpoint because a private company set up next door, decides that providing Emergency Disaster Services to those affected by the Disaster is too troublesome & instead want to block access to those they're supposedly there to help: The survivors of the apocalypse & it's other victims.
That company: EDS, instead claimed control of the dock, first "for security reasons" on an island with more cops than residents, and second, ownership of Dinghy Dock 2, retroactively of course, and is now using the town to send in trigger happy cops to prevent any boat owner from using the Mooring Field Dock specifically set up for them to commute from their 'rented from the government' land, requiring permits we have, and paid for. Instead of asking what they can do to assist this neighborhood of paying tenants living in their floating mobile homes after a disaster, they toss us upstream like a soiled tampon & complain when we re-emerge & float past.
Threatening another human, specifically with gun violence, to force compliance with one's personal vision of a society built in their preferred hierarchy is the very definition of terrorism. Committing these crimes against the disabled, the infirm, and destitute on behalf of and to profit a private, undemocratic corporation with a solo-self appointed ruler for life defines this as fascist state sponsored terrorism. Have they been put on a watch list somewhere? I know we have. Their UAVs do low level fly-by-nights & hover above the boats harassing those following USCG safety recommendations by avoiding the uncharted & unnavigable waters and staying put.
But it used to be a lovely building. I'm sure that makes up for all of it. FEMA's handing out millions to these guys while they force residents out of their homes & search everything, everywhere without warrants. No wonder stuff is missing. Yet the residents of this neighborhood can't even get the $700 for miscellaneous expense reimbursement.
Government is the problem; hire a republican & they'll prove how bad...

There is nothing here to do. No gas, very little restaurants and traffic is horrible with no end in sight. City council is utterly inept and half the problem. Almost 2 years after the hurricane and it's still a wasteland.
They said they hired traffic control, but no one was there, just the light brand new light. The traffic is horrible and the city has waited until it's unbearable to lift a finger. Just spent 2 hours and 20 mins to get off the island. All reports are exiting north

Read moreAm a Fort Myers Resident. Was told by small local businesses that fort myers beach is trying to get rid of all small business and force people to eat at expensive commercial restaurants. If the city is found to be pushing this. Let this be a warning. The only bill that will be getting passed is shutting down pointless government agencies like the town haul. And we will be seeking prison for those involved for treason and bribery. We the People own this country. Corporations coming to an end. Trump is on it. Nothing can stop...
