I’m responding to the owners response to my families comments in reference to our experience and the manager Brock’s actions on 7/25/24. I own many facilities in the mental health and alcoholism / substance abuse rehabilitation industry. You are correct; there are 2 sides to every story (actually 3; yours, ours, and the truth). I personally have been sober for many years and am an expert professionally in alcohol related behaviors and condition’s. I did not have a single drink nor did my wife and we observed everything with a clear mind. As one business owner to another; I hope you consider the following facts that I can tell you with 100% certainty.

  1. At no time was anyone in our party “out of control”, nor verbally abusing the staff. Your own employees even apologized to us for Brocks behavior. The “out of control” and “some of the worst behavior I’ve ever seen” statement is a blatant lie; we had a dozen children with us. I can’t attest to the conversation that occurred privately between one of our elders and Brock so I can’t confirm if there was an inappropriate comment made during the conversation. If something inappropriate was said to Brock and it was unwarranted and unprovoked; my family takes responsibility and would gladly apologize. I can confirm that other than that private conversation, our party was polite to the servers and respectful of your establishment.

  2. You were not present so you can’t be sure of your statements and any audio recorded would be illegal and it couldn’t be heard over the music playing prior to Brock shutting it down anyways so there is no way you could verify the claims you are making in your reply.

  3. Either your camera time stamps are wrong or you are lying about the entertainment going till 9pm. It was shut off 30-35 minutes prior.

  4. No need to apologize to other customers for behavior that didn’t occur as your other customers were dancing and laughing with us and your entertainment. No one in the entire restaurant was offended other than our family and Brock.

  5. I wish you would have called the police so they could have reviewed the camera footage and based on what I heard; they would have arrested Brock for assault. I did not witness this personally so I may be mistaken but several members of our party heard Brock threaten a member of our party because he was upset about the way we asked the waitress to split the checks up. The waitress had no issue and was happy to do so. While I was in the restroom with my 7 year old son; allegedly Brock came out and started yelling at a member of our group “she doesn’t work for you; she works for me and you don’t tell her how to split the bill, I do!” I’ve never been to a restaurant before in my life where this was an issue. When a waiter/waitress asks how would you like the bill split, they simply say okay or I’m sorry, we’re unable to do that.

  6. I will be in town until tomorrow at 10 am. I would love to come by peacefully and view the camera footage with you and record it and post it on YouTube and attach it to my review about your reply. Please don’t delete any camera footage in the meantime. I’m even inclined to get a subpoena for the footage to prove to the world that you are making false statements and not taking accountability for your managers actions. If what you say is true; then you should be willing to do this to validate your reply. Have you even considered that your employee may be lying to you? If you are not willing to do this; then your reply to my family’s review is no better than Brock’s actions last night and you should be ashamed of yourself.

I sincerely look forward to your reply and will appreciate you making the time to review the camera footage with me. If what you state is true; I will sincerely apologize on behalf of my family and provide you $1,000 for the inconvenience. As business owners; we need to deal with facts and not conjecture or the comments of others that have a vested interest in not telling the truth. I truly hope we can provide clarity to...

Gotta say seriously disappointed in last nights service. We have been coming here for years. Practically every trip we made from NJ to visit family. Talked it up to everyone we knew who might have a chance to visit. Gushed for weeks after we now moved to Ft. Myers permanently to our roommate who had never been.

This trip make me embarrassed to have recommended it.

We were seated by the water hidden in a corner about 6pm. The "windows" were then promptly closed, so there goes water side dining atmosphere.

Our server Ariel wanders over and timidly asks for out drink order. When she returned with our drinks we immediately placed our order. Conch fritter appetizer, Shrimp and Scallop Scampi for my husband, Coconut Shrimp Platter for me and Scallops and Chips for our roomie Jen.

The appetizer took almost a half hour to come to the table. It was burnt. So we got 6 or 8 pieces of burnt fried mush that we had the pleasure of paying $10 for. We get through it and are now waiting for our entrees. And we wait .... and we wait. This gave us lots of time to watch what happened around us. The table next to us had to beg Ariel to take their order. She told them "Yeah in a minute" and went to help a table that had been seated after them. We watched at least 3-4 other tables that had been seated after us get their orders. Ariel came over every 20min or so to say it wouldn't be much longer. She even asked if we wanted soup. No thank you we said. We doubted at this point it would have been free or quick.

At about 7:30 my husband had had enough and went to the bar to find a manager. He said that he had no idea what was going on but it had been over an hour and a half and we still didn't have our food and we had seen several other tables served that had been seated well after us. The manager said she'd look in to it and he came back to the table alone.

The manager managed to find her way to our table a few minutes later and said nonchalantly that "your ticket had been lost. Yeah that's what happened. Maybe we can do desert for you."

Jen immediately shut that down. "NO you won't I'm highly allergic to pistachios" (The only dessert we had seen advertised was on the table stand up and it was for a pistachio ice cream cake concoction. This made every other dessert off limits, as Jen has an anaphylactic reaction to just the nut dust and close storage is enough for cross contamination). The manager scoffed and said she'd see what she could do and ran off. Ariel skulked over after a few more minutes and said that the manger was putting our plates together and they should be right out.

Magically our food appeared a short few minutes later served by the manager . Let me just say we were not impressed. This food wasn't freshly finished. Not by a long shot. It looked like it had been stuck under warming lamp for the last 45 minutes. My husbands pasta was cold and mush. My vegetables looked like something the cat hurked up and Jen's scallops were so cold and greasy they were inedible.

We never saw the manager again. Ariel came back 5 min later to tell us that the manager was taking a percentage off our bill and to ask if we wanted boxes to take food home.

WHY would we want to take this garbage home?!?

Why couldn't the manager see fit to tell us this herself!?! No please send the poor girl who skulks around like a beaten puppy.

As Ariel quickly scampered away we had to call her back to ask for the check. Somehow we get two separate checks even though we hadn't asked for them. The manager had graciously taken 30% off. How generous.

I am so embarrassed that I recommended this place for so long. We talked up the great food and friendly staff. I wanted to show Jen a good time and instead I treated her to cold inedible food and an unprofessional manager who did the...

Parrot Key Caribbean Grill 6-8-24 We stopped by the Parrot key for dinner and to see the Frank Torino Show. I called a day ahead to make reservations as we did not know how busy they would be. We got there at 5:30 on a Saturday, they were not that busy and took us right to the front row table at the stage. Even though we were kind of outside the area was neat and clean. Our waitress Alyssa left us menus and took our drink order. When she came back with our drinks, she answered a couple questions we had about the food on the menu. She then took our food order. My wife ordered the Island Steak Salad which had Mixed Greens, Blueberries, Strawberries, Blackberries, Raspberries, Feta Cheese, Walnuts, Blackened Steak with a Raspberry Dressing. I ordered the key West Mahi which had Grilled Mahi topped with Crab Meat, Avocado and diced Tomatoes topped off with Meyer Lemon Sauce sitting on a Tropical Vegetable Couscous. My dad ordered The Bay Side Burger with American Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato and Onion with a side order of seasoned Fries. Our orders came out fast and they looked so good. My order was amazing, not only did it look good, but it was hot and very tasty. I was so glad I ordered it and would order it again. My wife’s salad was very good, and all the steak hot was seasoned perfectly. She just loved her salad and she stated she would order that again. My dad’s Burger was done exactly how he liked it, and the Fries were also done to his liking. He said he would get them again the next time we went there. My wife also got two pina coladas in a keep sake glass and they were very good. This place hit on all cylinders as far as this reviewer saw. Now as far as the Frank Torino Show it got started about 15 minutes late, but it was well worth it. He is a showman and got the crowd into singing along with him and we even danced a little bit. Frank treated everyone like they were family and part of the show. Everyone was just having such a good time. What a great place not only to eat food but to see a show or be part of it. What an enjoyable evening with my wife and dad. If you want to go out some time you must stop by this place. The vibe is all Caribbean and fun times, great food, and cold drinks. I give this place 5 out of 5 stars, it was just amazing. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Follow Me For More...

Parrotheads, tropical ambiance enthusiasts, and travelers nautically-inclined, take heart if you happen to be in the area of Sanibel Island. An army of brightly-colored, tropical paradise-themed restaurants await you at virtually every turn. After a pleasant day of cruising about on the jade waters off of the island, my family chose to dock near the infamous pirate imposter, Pieces of Eight, and make for Parrot Key bar and grill, a sensibly-priced establishment that seemed popular with residents and tourists alike. Surrounded by brilliant shades of green, blue, red, yellow, and virtually every scarlet macaw figurine imaginable, you'll be treated to a variety of tasty adult beverages and tropically-themed foods. The seafood, naturally, seems to be the best bet here. Everybody was happy with the preparation and flavor of fish and shrimp. If you enjoy a fish sandwich, The Big Kahuna may be your best option. It's a generous fillet of fried cod with pickle and remoulade on tasty ciabatta bread with one side. My brother-in-law sang praises of the blackened grouper, while my wife put a hurting on grilled shrimp. We tried the Island Wings for appetizers, but there was probably better available. I tried the Blue Macaw for my beverage. Or was tasty, but the frozen banana daiquiri across from me looked supremely drinkable...just less like the waters off Nassau. The whole experience had a very laid- back feel. Service was...decent. I was a little disappointed that no water or refill was offered after I finished my beverage, but that was really my only gripe, other than a shortage of silverware and very tame wings. Should you go? Sure. Have a drink and relax. Just don't take the experience any more seriously than they do.
