The Goodz — Local services in Fort Myers Beach

I feel bad posting such a negative review for such a great place on fmb. I have come here at least a dozen times over the past couple years. but I just can’t come back anymore. I have noticed lots of new employees which is great because I think that means the store is doing good and I love supporting the local bizz but there’s an employee that has been there a couple times when I have gone in . I’m pretty sure she works there because she sits behind register and I saw her ring someone up once. She isn’t like the other people I’ve seen regularly the past couple years. I havent got her name but she looks young skinny dark hair (dark skin) not very tall. She has ignored me. She doesn’t say hi when I come in which most of goods staff do when I have showed up almost every time before. Last time I was there she didn’t even notice me standing at the register because she was on her cell phone. I put my floaty back and went to a different store which sucked because the other store didn’t have that floaty my daughter wanted. I don’t even know if she knew I left the store but I won’t be going back. I like good customer service and good deals just like everyone else but i’ll take good customer services somewhere else that actually gives it. I hope I can come back because this has always been my go to place when on vacation but I don’t think it’s my thing anymore. My wife thinks i should not leave this review but i am not very happy with a local shop having this type of energy on a beach i have always loved. good luck with the changes. i hope i am wrong about the family store not having a happy family...

Not just a neighborhood hardware store but a place where people go to talk to the pro hardware man. The owner and my personal friend Brent is always happy to help you. Weather you need some nails n screws or a pair of cheap sunglasses or some higher end Costa DelMar or Oakley sunglasses. They have t-shirts hats flip flops you name it just a bunch of things. Last but certainly not least is our locally owned and operated Loveboat Ice cream at the old fashioned hardware store. Stop in and teach your kids about how taxes work then eat 30% of the ice cream and day that is how taxes work.... Yummy stop in and grey a scoop or two??? Great little shop near Ft. Myers Beach. Has all the little, forgotten necessities and a whole lot more! The outside displays and front half are dedicated to beach wear. The back half is hardware related. The young lady at the counter was very nice and personable to every customer that came in! It was nice being from out of town and seeing her interact with the local frequent visitors...made it feel like a tight-knit community, especially important while still recovering from the last hurricane. There's also an ice-cream trailer in the lot, beer trailer to the rear and a coffee...
