if I could give zero stars I would. Do not purchase from Baer’s furniture in Fort Myers. After picking out 2 leather sofas and going to check out, I was told we can’t give you a receipt, confirmation or purchase policy because our printer and credit card machine are broken. Was told they would email…never did. We paid for 2 sofas and their protection package and were over charged $100. Called the next day and were told it would be credited back to credit card, never was. First delivery, the delivery people dropped one sofa on stairs and broke it, the second sofa stopped working after 2 reclines. Drove to store to discuss the problem and manager tells us we will have to pay another $199 for re delivery for a return and exchange. Week later, delivery people pull up to house(stilt) and say we have your order but we will not deliver it because it’s too heavy. Call delivery and they schedule for the next week. Third delivery people pull up and say sorry can’t deliver it’s too heavy for us to go up stairs. They say they will be back in 2 days with more delivery people. 4th trip from Baer’ s delivery people bring up two sofas that they have completely destroyed the Cambric dust cover on both sofas. We call Baers about it and the fifth visit is from an independent person to repair the two sofas. Great guy, but Baers says It will be 6-8 weeks to fix. Meanwhile, my husband is on floor and looks at front of arm of sofa and the delivery person used a box blade to open packing and put an 8 inch slice down the front. Call Baers for a manager to return call, never calls us. Delivery calls us several days later and said they will exchange the following week. Today, visit #6 from Baers delivery brings in a replacement sofa that is clearly USED, with no tags attached(against the law), the underside Cambric dust Cover with zippers has been haphazardly replaced with fabric that looks like it had been stapled by a 6 year old. Sofa doesnt have new leather smell but does smell like it had been sitting in someone’s house for a while. Without the zippers, the cords from the recliners were coming out of the foot holes and were underneath the wood. ( fire hazard). We refuse it, ask for a manager to call us and have not heard back from them. We have 13 emails to them that have gone unanswered, 10 calls to salesperson and store manager unanswered, 6 calls to the delivery manager Dave unanswered. Have had to call my credit card company and dispute the charges*.Update to Dec 30. On Saturday Dec 28th we had another attempt at delivery. Baers brought the same used sofa they brought the week before. Filthy dirty, no tags attached and used with only 2 men to deliver and navigate the 20 stairs. We again refused the delivery telling the agent we paid $5000 for new furniture, not damaged or used furniture. Today Dec 30th we receive a call from Baers telling us they only have the refused sofa and that they have discontinued it. (It was a brand new item 5 weeks ago) and we would have to come in and re-select furniture or get a store credit. Why after this hell they have put us through would we ever want to step into Baers furniture...
Read moreQuite a disappointment after spending over $3,000.00 for a lift chair. We briefly visited the showroom, was shown a chair by our salesperson that we liked but not in the right color (which we were told would take 6 months for delivery) so, we shopped around a bit and came back the next day and decided to live with the color was we needed the chair. Our sales person wasn't available -- yet a designer decided to jump in and take credit for the sale. (It got straightened out).
Delivery was quick; however, the lift chair which is a medical necessity did not work. The service man that came out and plugged in the chair said the light to the electrical pack to the chair should turn green soon and it would work and then left. We waited hours. It still didn't work. We called the service center -- they offered to bring out a new chair but they were 4 days out - regardless of medical necessity.
On the second delivery they set up the chair outside and brought it in, it took a short while for them to plug in everything on the chair and it worked within minutes, which indicates that the first team did not know what they were doing.
On the way out they took out a small chunk of our door frame which we recently had painted; I verbally told them to veer more to the left or they were going to nick the door frame. They obviously didn't listen.
A day later I got a call from a company on behalf of Baers to make the repair. Long story short in conversation, I was told that Baers subcontracts their delivery and those delivery men are not trained to work on Baers furniture. Repairs would also be subcontracted yet to another company -- I gave up and decided to get the repair done on our own.
I will NEVER shop at Baers again. Definitely not worth the aggravation, nor the money. The chair itself; it is just ok as far as comfort. The only feature it has that can't be found elsewhere in a lift chair is that it swivels. It's just...
Read moreI am reducing this review from 5 stars to 2 stars. Initially the service was great. The sales person Rick assisted us in crafting the perfect look for our bedroom furniture. We spent over 10,000 on this furniture. We were issued a delivery date and told everything was in stock. We left. Just before the delivery we received a phone call saying that our bed would come in pieces because they ran out of headboards between the time they took our money and when they processed the order. We would have to wait another 2 weeks for the rest of the bed to arrive and store the other parts.
Two and a half weeks later I had to contact them to find out where my headboard was. They didn't remember who I was. A few hours later they contacted me with a new delivery date for the headboard the following week. Three weeks after my initial promised delivery time the headboard arrives. It's defective, they can't assemble it properly due to the defect and have to take it back. I explained my situation to customer care, now they say I have to wait 2 business days for a call from another department before I'll even know when or how they plan to resolve this. Below I've attached a lovely photo of my 3500 dollar bed that I'll be sleeping on until they fix their many mistakes.
Update. Rescheduled delivery is another week out despite saying it would be expedited. This brings the total delay to over a month. No apology offered, empty words about as soon as possible, but no evidence that there is any remorse for these many inconveniences. I've now had to stop work, cancel appointments and had general disruption to my life for three separate delivery dates for the same order.
Final Update, bed delivered and assembled today. Never received an apology or any offer of compensation for this chaos. To be clear, furniture is exceptional quality, initial service was fantastic. It's the logistics...
