Went to Hooters with an old friend for old memory sake. Our experience was horrible to begin with. My friend is a retired Navy special forces suffers from TBI PTSD and multiple injuries from gunshots to IEDs. We walked in minding our own business and I forgot my phone in the car stood there waiting for me we sat down, The manager came right up to us and told us he didn't feel comfortable serving us a beer. He asked if my friend was drinking prior to coming in and he responded no . Then he asked if he was high on marijuana and at that point I interjected and said absolutely not we were both tired from truck shopping all day. He then ask if he was high on pills, cocaine or some other illegal medication and we both responded absolutely now at that point The manager said I don't feel comfortable serving you alcohol. At that point we should have gone up and walked out first of all my friend was in driving I was and I don't drink. We were both hungry and tired from a long day so we ordered our food. I ordered buffalo shrimp which were delicious, six wings but I only got five and they said they will bring the other one out right away but it didn't come out until I requested it when I finished my shrimp another five wings. My friend who at this point didn't even want any ordered 10 regular wings breaded but they came I'm cold. The waitress was pleasant but we were shunned and shut down by the manager as soon as we walked in. After we finish eating I went up to the manager very politely and asked why he acted the way he did and he said he felt that my friend was either high or drunk which he was neither. I explained to him that he had TBI and other injuries from fighting in the war on terror for 12 years doing multiple tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. I also explained to him that I am the chef in the restaurant industry and explained to him physical and mental issues that way friend deals with. While I was speaking he rudely interrupted me and spoke down to me at which point I informed him of the mistakes made by both the waitress and the kitchen and that perhaps he should pay more into the operation of the establishment rather than picking on and specifically signaling out somebody on a suspicion. There was no smell of alcohol on either of us because neither of his drink any alcohol today. He ignored the fact that not one not two but three mistakes were made With our order and he just blew me off. Both my friend and I have been going to his for 30 years and after the experience we will never ever set foot in a Hooters again all because of a fat slob poor mannered manager. I was especially upset over the fact that both of us are military veterans we were very well mannered very well dressed and never did anything to make anybody think that we were impaired by alcohol, marijuana or narcotics. If my friend wasn't directly attacked by him an accused of such we would have sat there and probably spent $150 to $200 eating and drinking but we got up asked for boxes to put our food in and walked out. The only reason I gave it two stars was because the buffalo shrimp were delicious and our waitress was polite and cordial. But again I will never recommend or set foot in a Hooters establishment again due to this arrogant fat slob of...

Read moreTonight Sunday February 24th before 10pm my husband was denied an alcoholic drink due to not having a Florida State ID yet having a valid government ID showing proof of age over 21. Waiter said it’s a new policy issued by governor Ron Desantis as of last year, I am extremely upset at this said “policy” not shown to the public upon entering. Hooters has definitely lost my business & will continue to loose business with in our community due to this reason.
Update: I did my research the policy the waiter referred to is in support of Senate Bill 1718 in the state of Florida; “Drivers licenses given exclusively to undocumented immigrants in other states are invalid as of July 1, 2023.”. The service presented at Hooters today was based off of total discrimination. I will be contacting an attorney first thing Monday morning.
I will no longer be supporting Hooters in their business. I ask my community to beware of the support Hooters has towards this bill as this is no alcoholic requirement for restaurant's issued an alcohol license in the state of Florida. To my Hispanic or minority/diverse communities, there are so many of us whom go with our families or friends to dine at this restaurant only to be discriminated at their discretion as soon as we enter the doors. Please save yourself the humiliation, disrespect and discrimination given by Hooters...
