Harbor Freight — Local services in Fort Payne

Most of the employees are friendly, but the one I encountered today was terrible. The man didn't even look in my hatch back car to see how much room it had and immediately started trying to refuse loading my $300 item I just bought. Honestly he didn't even see my car, he just immediately rudely started scoffing and saying it won't fit at the cash register. I asked to see the box and could hear him talking about me like I was an idiot in the back.I saw the box and assured him it would fit, as I have put bigger things in there before. Long story short. The item fit but he didn't bring help to load it(it was a 1 ton jack), it should have been a two person lift,refused my advice or help and slid it across my seal almost as if he was purposely trying to tear things up, he tore my seal. The Ft. Payne store always has plenty of employees it seems but they enjoy hanging out in the little office just next to the checkout. The store seems to have plenty of items but sometimes they are so jammed up with other items they're hard to find. When you do corral an employee into helping you, don't count on anything except directions to an area of the store--the employees seem to have little product knowledge or if they do they share it reluctantly then practically run back to the Office; it's like they are confined to hanging out just outside the office and if they can't get into the office, they like to peep in through the fairly large window. Went in as usual just browsing but today I had decided I'd possibly buy a new tool box and some other items I had in my cart. When I asked the clerk to borrow a tape to check the size of my trunk she told me to hold on 1 sec. 5 or so mins later I see here helping someone else and when I approach her she said oh sorry I didnt have one you could borrow. I said uh ok really as we are standing next to at least 5...so after I mentioned she come out with me she said sorry I cant...FYI management...you just lost 600 bucks or so...
