Bar-B-Que Place — Restaurant in Fort Payne

Having seen all of these glowing reviews of this place, I felt that I had to stop here on a trip to Collinsville. I love some delicious barbecue.

Well, unfortunately, that is something this place lacked. The pork - which there wasn't much of - was cold. It seems like they would at least have the decency to warm it up in a microwave. The portion sizes are ridiculously small (except for the ribs). The barbecue sauce provided in squirt bottles on the wobbly, three-decade-old tables were very much like lake houses, in that they were very close to water; the primary difference in the mild and hot barbecue sauces were the amount of black pepper added. The french fries were fine, in that they were thoroughly cooked and still slightly warm. The bathrooms lacked paper towels with which to dry one's hands. The decor has probably not been updated since the place opened.

On a positive note, the staff were very friendly. If I were to base this review solely on customer service, I would gladly tell you that I would stop here again and again in the future.

A sign on the front of the restaurant proudly exclaims, "VOTED BEST BARBECUE IN DEKALB COUNTY!" This does not bode well for the other barbecue restaurants in...

If this place makes it, i will be shocked. Me and my family went there and all i can say it was the worst food i ever had sense i moved here from Florida. I had a pork salad. The pulled pork was cooked so done to the point it had hard pieces that you couldn't chew. The crutons was in little plastic little container. I like croutons i didn't think nothing about it. So dumped them in my sald. I just started to fix it up like i like it. So started eating it and thats when i realized pork was cooked to long. But it wasn't that bad I was ok tell i bit into crouton and I dont have words to say to tell you it was not good. They were stale and was wet with something that was disgusting. And one of my family members ordered 3 hamburger sliders and and each one was raw. But they did remake them. And I already had weird taste in my mouth. So I myself threw my food away. My daughter had pork plate and she was like me she thought pork to dry and cooked to long. They have things that they call jojos its just a greasy slice of potatoes. As a teenager I worked here. It's been quite some time ago! LOL! Last time I came in there was only 2 people dining, one car in drive thru & they had 5 people working & I waited on my order for nearly 10 min!!! A reg. chic.finger plate w/Jo's & slaw & my fingers were cold. Food still taste the same but the quality of service sux these days!! Today I come in & there's one lady against the wall & said she already ordered. I proceed to order my usual,pay for it & go sit to wait for nearly 15min before I finally get my food! 2 cars @ drive thru, 3 people working & one of them hasn't quit talking since I walked in. The lady whom was against the wall was still against the wall at least another 5min after I got my order. Bless her heart!
