Wow. I've listened to Alabama since nearly the beginning... 1983-84 as a 9-10 year old. The floodgates of memories opened up... as I thought about the songs, the stories, the concerts. I never went to one of their shows that they didn't find somebody there to compliment, to encourage, to recognize... something. It's one of the reasons we loved them so much... they connected to us all through their music (and their actions) that talked about us as people... although growing up in Utah with... mountains... I admit I expected more of a mountain... "You see those mountains? One of these days I'm going to climb that mountain." 😜🤔😜🤔😜🤔 It is easy to see why one would fall in love with this place. Very beautiful and the people have been very kind. I have happy memories growing up listening to Alabama. I have shared their songs and memories with my kids. We shared a couple of brief things with the host... who was absolutely kind as can be... and she shared back a couple stories also, that revealed character. What I saw on stage at their concerts as kindness, generosity, gratitude, and more... was confirmed as real and sincere from this girl. I was grateful to have come in today. We all are very truly blessed. I do have one question/request... can you break out the van and drive it around? That would be cool to see going down the road. Just let us know...
Read moreOne of the reason for my visit to Fort Payne was to see the Alabama Museum. I am an Air Force veteran and my my husband retired from the military so I have a dependant ID card. Prior to our our visit I had called to see if they offered a military discount. Upon arrival to the gift store with a friend who is also a military dependant, no employees were present and after a 10 Minute wait, we went to purchase our tickets and were very rudely told that they did not accepted military dependants for discounts. I just want to say that when a spouse or parent serve, the whole family sacrifices for that person to serve our country. We move frequently, spend time without our love ones, worry about their safety and are unable to put down roots and develop seniority in our jobs because of frequent moves. I told this employee that i was a veteran and i could produce my DD214. She said rudely then you can discount but your friend can not get discount. We opted not to see museum. This employee did not say thank you for services your service, thank you for your purchase, come back to see us---Nothing polite during our entire interaction. I hope that members of the group read this review and investigate this employee because she lost the museum our business and probably other business too. Feel free...
Read moreFirst let me say that I am a huge Alabama fan. It was nice to see the gold records and allot of the guitars that they used. I was disappointed however. I don't think that just walking around in the small space was worth the cost. There was nothing to interact with. There was one TV screen that played songs but it was not worth just standing there when I can see much more and better on YouTube. I think the gift shop was over priced for the little that they had. Shirts that were not great and a few coffee cups. There was nothing it it that was worth the price or that even a big Alabama fan wanted. We took our family from out of state and with 4 generations they all felt the same way. They need to change a great many things because we all came away feeling that it was a big waste of time and money. I expected so much more. I will never again go back or take visitors there. I remain an Alabama fan but now I feel let...
