This comic book shop and table top gaming center has so much untapped potential. First the comic book shop. The amount of comics and memorabilia is amazing. They have so much to offer the avid reader to the hardcore collector. The issue is this place is an absolute mess. There is stuff just trown everywhere with no ryme or reason. Boxes just stacked up, many of them blocking walkways to be able to see everything. Many items are not marked with prices. So you have to ask how much everything is. He doesn't have set prices. They will just google the item and check prices on ebay to give you the price. The price given on a few items were actually marked up from ebay, I checked after I saw he was doing this. It took more than 5 minutes per item I asked about. When I did try to make a purchase on an item that was marked with a price the owner tried to pull the same shenanigans. The figure was marked 21.99 and then at check out he tried to charge 29.99. Let's say he can keep his collection intact at that point. He does not want to make sales, he just wants people to come in and look at his collection of items. Now talking about Thunderdome it is the same story. A great amount of space for tabletop games but a disaster on the inside with many items just tossed on the tables. This shop as well had many older items that many collectors might want to purchase but nothing was marked with a clear price and when asked about items the same type of sale tactics were applied here as well. There are items in the display cases that are not even for sale. Why would items be displayed in a store under glass and not be for sale. I really can not see how these shops are not breaking some type of safety code. As well as I can not see how this place is still in business when the owner really doesn't want to sell anything. I understand that prices fluctuate on memorabilia items but the cost does not and if the owner wanted to sell things he could but does not really want too. If you are looking to spend 20 minutes of your time looking and old toys and other things knowing you won't be able to buy anything this is the...
Read moreIt’s sad that most of the negative reviews are true and I got to experience it first hand. First as you walk in you get the rehearsed spiel of certain comics being first edition bagged and bordes but never does he tell you that your going to pay double the price.
I like to give people the benefit of the doubt- so I returned - what a waste of gas and time. I picked up a comic purposely that wasn’t a “first edition” nor bagged nor boarded and when I asked him the price, he started looking in his computer - after two minutes and the seeing the frustration on his face - he says 7.99.
7.99? For a comic that clearly costs 3.99? Why the $4 mark up? I was so disgusted and left.
I went to collector comics instead and after taking a count on the couple of stories I follow; I counted 80 comics in my collection.
If your reading this Mr. Big Dog, that’s at least 40 plus times I visited and shopped at Collector Comics. Think of all that business you could have gained if you were an honest businessman.
I wish I didn’t have to say this about you but I feel compelled to let the public know about your deceptive pricing tactics.
You may not care but for the rest of the comic fans it’s...

Last month, while my sons and I were getting our car tinted at SunStoppers, we noticed Big Dog Comics store across the street and decided to check it out while we waited.
The moment we walked in, we were blown away by the collection! You can tell the owner has a deep passion for comics, figures, and collectibles he has so much to offer, it’s like walking into a treasure trove. We honestly spent hours there. We just couldn’t leave!
Now before anyone rushes to judge — yes, the shop might seem messy at first glance. But please be mindful: the owner and his wife are incredibly kind, welcoming, and clearly put their heart into what they do. Life can get busy, and when you’ve got a collection this massive, organizing every single piece is a challenge. But trust me — the magic is still there.
To top it all off, the owner knew some sign language, which made our visit even more special. That small connection meant a lot to us.
We left with a bag full of comics, hot wheels, figures and smiles on our faces. We’ll definitely be back and we highly recommend you check it out too. Whether you're a collector or just browsing, you’re guaranteed to find something...
