A good place for Southern comfort food and, especially, waffles! This is one of the (over) 2100 locations located in the United States. It looks like there are about 190 Waffle Houses in Florida and at least 2 within a mile of each other. They are located on the opposite sides of the I-95 and Okeechobee Road intersection. This particular restaurant is located on the northeast side of the junction. Parking is limited at the location but there is additional parking in the adjacent parking lot to the north. It is set up like a typical Waffle house with a staff that greets you when you enter. You can eat at the tall counter, low counter, or in the booths to the left and right of the counters. The menu is regular American fare with Eggs omelets for breakfast and sandwiches for breakfast. The prices are very reasonable. The restaurant was not very crowded when we visited. The place was very clean. The waitress came to take our order quickly. We ordered the waffles (of course) and bacon and drinks. The food came out quickly and tasted very good. The staff was very professional, the price was good and the food was excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting some good food and a...
Read moreWe had a really rough time trying to get a meal here. We were a large party of 8 and the server didn’t want to take our tables… apparently because we were too many at one time. Half the restaurant was closed off (The manager William said that it was because his staff was too slow to handle a full restaurant.) however, there were two empty and available booths and five barstools . The “manager” said he “didn’t want to serve these white people” honestly I was shocked. They told us we would have to go to the other restaurant across the street for some reason. I’m really disappointed because I typically love the food there and usually the service is pretty good. I wish they had more stores open down here so we could eat there more often… and I’m not coming back to these two locations (the manager said he was in charge of both locations) I’m not sure what is wrong with their supervision and quality of service. We tip really well when we go out… No matter if it’s a fine dining experience or a quick stop… But really, how can a business stay open if they are running off customers and acting so clearly...
Read moreWent during Easter and the place was completely empty but I felt like I was in the twilight zone. Waitress was friendly but she had a cough and kept open mouth coughing as she prepared various things for us. Asked for my hash browns to be scattered and well done, they were not. Waffle was crispy, had to use alot of butter to soften it up. After serving food waitress went outside n took a smoke break or something n was gone the entire time we ate, I had to slow my eating down bc how was I going to pay with no waitress inside? There was no staff inside besides the cook and idk where he went. We were literally alone for the duration of our meal. Place wasn't the cleanest, there was a fly in the window of our table and when I went to pay a baby roach was crawling across the front of the counter where I had to stand by the register. I wanted to order waffles To go but there were too many red flags for me to spend any more money in this one. There's 2 waffle houses on this road do yourself a favor and go to the other one that's closer to the turnpike. That's where I usually go and have never...
