Candy Craze — Local services in Fort Smith

I’ve loved this place since I was little but I went yesterday and the old lady working there in there must have just been having a bad day. She asked if I had been there before which i replied yes very standard customer service. My favorite are chocolate covered sunflower seeds and you’ve moved locations a few times over the years so things change. I had separate bags for chocolate and candy and I’ve been going there since I was little and they’ve never made a big deal about getting chocolate from the cheaper section and putting it in the chocolate bag (more money for you right?!) so I don’t understand why she threw a fit at me when I asked where the chocolate covered sunflower weeds were because I actually wanted a container like you used to have not even in a bag. She scoffed at me then said “I thought you said you’ve been here” I ignored her and just said okay grabbing my chocolate bag bc it’s chocolate then she raised her voice and told me no use the bag that has sour sugary candy. I have anxiety so ofc I just didn’t want the confrontation and did it. Then was incredibly rude to me afterwards. She sat there rolling her eyes at me separating the m&ms from the rest of my chocolate bag. If she was going to do that anyways then why’d she not just let me add in the other chocolate too? I’m only saying something bc now my chocolate covered sunflower seeds are ruined and covered in sour sugar and I’m pissed. I came in yesterday with my husband for the first time and an older lady with white hair was working. We were the only ones in the store and I will admit I looked for about 15 minutes before deciding what all I wanted. I asked a few questions before grabbing a little box to fill with sour candy. Then I wanted a box for chocolates, she never informed me that the other section of chocolate was a different price so it required a different bag, and when she did finally tell me she was super rude and almost made me cry. I genuinely didn't know and she got upset that there was little chocolates mixed in with the bigger ones after I explained to her I grabbed from both sections and I apologized too. I know everyone has bad days sometimes, but you work at a candy shop and not every customer wants to ruin your day, so why ruin theirs? She made me feel extremely embarrassed by a little mistake I'm never going to make again now, if I ever decide going back.
