Micheal's never disappoints! Several years ago I was hunting for the large bottles of color shift paint and they went out of their way to get the colors they could from other stores for me. My most recent visit was to get iron on vinyl for and the remaining number of youth shirts needed to make shirts for our cub scout troop. I admit I do not utilize my Cricut machines as much as I should and it had been almost 2yrs since I made a shirt, let alone 13 and I used scrap vinyl from a local shop to make the few shirts for my then 2nd grader and to customize his water bottle for school. Since I had just a few days to make the shirts I didn't have time to order the brand vinyl I used the scraps of to make my son's shirts and had to work with what they had in the store. Their make it brand had blue glow in the dark vinyl and since the online sales are not the same as in store a super sweet girl helped me make an online order to save money, right at closing time. I realized I didn't have enough vinyl and the next week's in store sale had started on vinyl and I was able to pick up 2 additional rolls that was close to the blue the 3 glow in the dark rolls were but not exact so there was a difference in the blues in regular light and a surprise when the selected letters cut in glow in the dark vinyl showed up when in lower light. I am glad I looked it up online because the glow in the dark vinyl required higher heat to properly transfer and adhere to the shirts. I've had to fix a few shirts but that is my fault for just using the lower heat the regular vinyl needed for longer on the glow in the dark vinyl. So far the ones I've fixed using the proper temp seem to be staying on the shirts really well. If the shirts weren't so rushed, even though it was a donation to our cub scout troop, I'd have been able to pay the extra attention to detail to make sure they were to my standard. They were essentially meant for a one day outing and flag retirement ceremony afterwards...I can't say, yet, if the vinyl lasts 50 washes like it says on the the packaging. But the shirts I've fixed are holding up pretty...
Read moreMixed reviews for here. The staff were all very friendly and the facility smells wonderful. Very well organized and easy to find what you need. The downside is a somewhat shady business practice that we dealt with today. We needed a long shank hole punch and I looked around at multiple stores. Finally found one here and, as luck would have it--it was the last one. The price tag said $41.99 so we snatched it up but when we got to the register it range up as ~$50.00. My husband asked the cashier why it range up differently and they explained that they didn't agree with the practice (said it "absolutely wasn't right, but it's what they do") but that they leave the sales tags on because most people "won't fight it" and that we have to check the dates closely--the date on the tag is the date the sale price ended. Well, today is 10/30/22 and the date on the tag is 2/23/22. That's a long time to keep up a scam. They called the manager up and we got it for the sales price but that seems like some bad business practice. If I wasn't desperate for the tool I would have left it at the counter. Again, the staff was very nice but if you choose to shop here, watch your price tags closely and take a photo of them--you'll need to prove the price at...
Read moreI had not been to Michael's in years, because we moved a few years ago to an area that doesn't have a Michael's. So, when we had an opportunity to go to a Micheal's store, we were excited.
Many art items are marked up quite a bit higher than what you can find them for on the Internet. There were sales, but I had to use my calculator and Google to see if it was really a sale, or the price was just close to normal with the sale. (ie: buy 3 tubes of artist paints and get 2 tubes of cheaper paints free or 50% off) Another sale was 2 collage photo frames for the price of one. Of course the price for one frame was very high, and I really only needed one frame. The store plays too many games with sale pricing, and it's hard to tell if you are really getting a good price or not. It's actually a bit tiring to continually have to figure out the actual price on items using the sale gimmick presented in...
