One of the worst customer service experiences of my life. Recently inherited a bunch of my grandparents antiques and heirlooms after my father passed away and was recommended K. Flories (by one of their longtime customers) as somewhere to get an idea of their value and possibly sell some things. I made clear that I didn’t know anything about antiques, but that one of their customers said I had some great stuff and they might be interested in taking a look. To say the rude woman behind the desk wasn’t interested was an understatement. Not only did she say we were wasting her time and immediately dismiss all of my family heirlooms as cheap (she literally was making faces and going “CHEAP!” out loud as she looked at the pictures) but she insulted me and my husbands intelligence by suggesting we would have no clue what a good antique was anyway. That may well be true, and my items may well have been crap…but did I mention I had JUST told her my father DIED and I inherited all of this? There’s this thing called tact, and people should know to have it in professional situations such as this. Honestly, it’s weird she didn’t have any given her seriously advanced age and the Baby Boomer assumption that it’s millennials who have no social graces. Anyway. I’ve never been treated so coldly by someone in my entire life and will be spreading the word. You couldn’t pay me to step foot in this horrible little shop again - I imagine that karma will have something to say about how their employees treat and alienate people since they were totally empty at midday on a Saturday...

Read moreWorking with Kathy was a DREAM. Am downsizing and divesting many things, some were antique Persian carpets, a round dining room table and a buffet inlaid with leather and gold stamping. These pieces HAD to go in the right hands so they can continue to uplift elegant spaces. I connected with Kathy via phone first, then text. I sent her photos of a number of things in addition to those mentioned. She made her selection and gave me a fair, solid standing offer quickly. My house went on the market and sold recently. Kathy told me who to call to pick up my treasures and things were handled. Kathy kindly mailed me a check since there’s a lot going on with the sale, divestiture and an upcoming move....
