I used to bring my youngest son here and we loved it. Yesterday I was totally disappointed when I brought my granddaughters for the first time. I haven't been in over 12 yrs. I called first, to make sure there wouldn't be a ton of field trips, as I had been warned about this by other reviewers. Being Summer, I thought the school field trips would be over. I was assured by staff that there were only a few field trips, but less than usual. When we arrived, we could hear the roar of unruly kids as soon as we opened the door. Kids were EVERYWHERE! Tons of field trips, hundreds of unsupervised kids were crawling literally everywhere! The kid's hands-on area had at least 6-10 kids at each activity, making it impossible to try anything. We tried waiting "in line" but groups of kids would come and just cut in and start the activity, as if we were invisible. Several times I tried telling them that they had to wait their turn, but many didn't speak English and there were no teachers around to translate. I finally just said, "No!" And put my hand up🤚, and they let us have a turn. One time I left my two granddaughters (ages 11 & 9) to go to the restroom, as they were busy making a parachute. When I came back , ALL of the parachutes were SHREDDED all over the floor and the fan was knocked over. I asked what in the world happened? They told me a boy came over and started destroying everything, including their parachutes! They said adults were nearby, but just ignored him.

The kids are out of control! It's so overrun by unsupervised kids on fieldtrips, that there's no way to enjoy the displays. It's unfair to the general public, who has to pay full price and is forced to put up with this!!! I paid $50 to get in + $12 parking + $50 for lunch. That's a lot of money for a miserable experience!

I watched kids trying to break interactive games (particularly the joy sticks), and many of the interactive things were already broken. We only got to try ONE activity between the hours of 11:00-1:00, because of the hordes of kids hogging everything.

The staff told us some field trips would leave at 1:00 and others by 2:00, and some stay all day. So we went to lunch to wait it out, because there was no use trying to stay. We waited till 2:30 to return, and by then most of the field trips were gone and it was pure heaven! The way you'd expect a museum to be. I'm angry because I had driven an hour to get there, and wanted to leave by 3:00 to miss the terrible rush hour traffic home, but was forced to stay until 5:00, otherwise mygranddaughters wouldn't have gotten to try anything.

This "museum" is no longer a museum, in my opinion, but a play place to entertain daycare & school kids. They definitely cater to the field trips, rather than to full paying customers. I wish they had 2 days/week that were open to field trips, and the other days were general public. That way when you spend $16 to get in, you know you'll get a fair chance to experience the museum.

P.S. Don't be fooled by Google maps when it says "not busy". It said that when I was there. Google only counts the number of ticket sales of the general public, not...

This is my second trip to this museum. The first time was okay but did not get to see everything as we were on a field trip and had to follow the group. I decided to bring my kids back so they could really explore at their own pace. Most of the exhibits were great. The play area were pretty clean and looks like the staff was trying hard to keep that up. There looked to be some maintenance issues and things needed to be updated. My issues was the Energy blast exhibit. My son really wanted to go back to that one because he liked the moving chairs and then to go into the exhibit itself with the big truck and other interactions. We went in and the chair did not work. The video kept stalling. We made it through it some how. We tried the exhibit twice because we were told someone was going to fix it soon. Nope. Next disappointment was the food. Chick-fil-a has taken over the cafe. For the first time ever I am disappointed in the offering. When I saw Chick-fil-a, I thought great grill chicken nuggets as me and my kids are gluten free. Nope! They hardly offer anything. What you get is greatly over priced. I spent $69 on what? I did not even spend that much to get in. You have a place where kids can explore and play all day. In what world would not not be food friendly so that everyone can find something to eat. You are not allowed to bring in outside food. So I have hungry kids who want to stay and explore. So I have to improvise and buy the grill chicken wraps, throw away the wrap and make kind of mini chicken salads serve it with apple sauce, chips and a drink. It gets worse after that. We get home and it is diarrhea fest. Food poisoning. I have never gotten sick from chick-fil-a food. I am not sure if it was the wheat off the wrap or the chicken was not fully cooked or the lettuce was tainted. My son and I got it the worse as we ate all of our improvised chicken salad. Places need to be food friendly and food inclusive. I do not mind, because I do it all the time, paying more for food I can eat and will not get sick from. Either change the policy about bring food or have more food options for kids with food allergies and sensitives. I am not sure if we will return. if so I will having to come up with a food plans which is disappointing. All these places need to do better when it come...

I don't think they clean they clean the children's museum exhibit at all. Everything you touch is so grimy and dirty, stained. I'm sure my toddler got sick from here. Becuase I did see sick little kids coughing around on everything and the employees who just stand there grab the play food or the toys and put them right back onto the box or wall for the next child to grab and get sick. It's so filthy that I regret purchasing my year membership. I will not be purchasing a membership again. It's not much of anything. The dino dig is closed. The imax is closed. And the other places available ain't much to do either. Another reviewer said the kids' section smells like urine, yes it does. The only thing I liked was the outdoor playground. I could take my toddler any park for that instead. But I'm stuck here for my yearly membership. I barely go there because it feels like dirty daycare. We just end up going to the zoo or botanical instead.

Just went last week, but nothing is new. Same science stuff to play with the tornado air simulation, the bed of nails oh they added a sand thing but that's about it. The dino dig was open, and the other section of the grocery store and doctor place was open. Sad to see the kids' white coat to pretend doctor are so dirty. The boat toy the handles are so stained and dirty looks like it's never seen a rag or wipe down. I only saw two hispanic ladies ten min before closing with a big mop to mop down nothing else no other cleaning tools. Everything is so grimy to the touch of course kids won't say much but jeez the pretend outfits reek of old smelly funk. It's bad. My four year old goes thru the whole place, but I don't see any learning or anything more like a daycare again... maybe I had better expectations of this place for learning and creativity. He is better off learning at the zoo, or the animal sanctuary near us or taking him to the rock climbing for indoor purposes due to the heat. Which oh yeah it was so hot in the museum I was sweating and so was my toddler, apparently the air wasn't working...
