See update:Lots of stuff at decent prices and they have wonderful sales on top of that. Nice helpful people. I could spend hours in here. Oh and the store was very neat today and I know it is hard to keep a thrift store near. Recommended to my fellow serious thrifters. Update: Guys, I honestly hate to leave unfavorable reviews for anything. I look for the positive and try to make the most of it. But this place is going downhill. 3 years ago, it was fairly tidy, as much as any thrift store anyway and now not only does it feel dirtier, I don't know why on earth they would arrange things the odd way they do. It is as if they want to make it hard to shop. Forget pushing the cart around. Also the pricing is not clear on anything except certain racks of clothes. Now I am a long time thrifter. The things they want to charge you $4 or $5 for can be had for .50 around the corner at the Family Thrift and the sale clothes racks here make the FT store look like Saks Fifth Avenue even on .25 cent day.. I also get that under current of bad humor from the employees but I am not surprised because so often it seems businesses built on Christian values so often forget all the things about loving your neighbor Jesus talked about. Sorry, unless they do better, I can no longer recommend. Also I know that human trafficking is a terrible thing to happen but I do not think that this store even doing booming business would be able to help a lot considering the scope of the actual issue and lack other resources available for them to partner with. Now if they are truly concerned about trafficking, help the unaccompanied minor immigrants being made into indentured servants by the "sponsors" they are released to. Buy one of their way out working night's at slaughter houses and i will shop there...
Read moreQuite an uncomfortable experience for 2 dollars worth of old paper. There are signs around that mention the prices for items (the ones that are actually marked) as there are many MANY things that aren't. This leaves pricing to the hands of the cashier and she tends to over price items if she knows what they are or just trying to make a sale. The magazines are priced at 5 for around a dollar. She tried to sell them to me as "paperbacks" first. (Magazines are not books as they do not have one or two authors, contain different articles, and adverticements made by different people etc etc) there are several differences. After she reluctantly accepted my explanation she tried to sell me the five magazines for one dollar each and refused to make good on their original pricing and advertisement. I decided against buying the magazines and left the books I was taking. She was determined to make a 6$+ sale instead of making good on their prices and making 3 something plus taxes and keeping a happy customer. I wont be returning it seems they are most interested in making money instead of actually selling the old (freely donated) junk they have to help the human trafficking cause. I will continue to help the cause but in other ways as I'm starting to feel they are not legitimate and greedy which makes me wonder if they actually donate to stop human...
Read moreThat's a HORRIBLE PLACE!! So many rules and regulations at a thrift store. I didn't like the way they treated the customers; especially the poor customers.
My heart is heavy based on how two customers were treated. One guy was unkempt,. The taller female employee greeted him and asked what he was looking for. Although her voice was pleasant, the undertone was disrespectful. By all accounts, her demeanor suggested that she was watching that customer closely because he may steal merchandise. Minutes later, another male customer came through the doors, the shorter female employee was very aggressive towards this guy and told him that he could not come in the store with a backpack. The guy responded, “I’m not gonna leave my backpack outside; can I leave it behind the counter or something?” The employee rudely said no! In the blink of an eye, the male customer began to loudly use foul language; and left angrily. You NEVER know what a person is experiencing.
The pricing is difficult to decipher. Sooooo, there’s a list with prices but the item I selected wasn’t on the list. One of the ladies had to check the database for the price, which was time consuming.
One of the employees explained that they...
