UPDATE: After going to a plastic retainer(per Bettagere’s choice she didn’t ask) it did fit and they gave us plastic tube like things to chew on to try and get it to fit the teeth. During this visit (to change the retainer type) Vidya Bettagere broke the first retainer when placing back to the mold. Bettagere first asked if it was broke before, and I was shocked, “of course not you took it out of her mouth!” Was my reply. She then apologized but didn’t offer to replace it! The chewing on these tubes, in order to get this retainer to fit, caused the back molar area of the retainer to bow towards the inside of the mouth. This then caused the retainer to cut my child’s tongue. I decided it was time to get a second opinion about what needed to really be done. We tried to where this retainer daily but it just fell off her top teeth like a unglued set of dentures! Bettagere said we only needed it at night since we were out of our 2months window from July’s removal. We still have teeth not fixed from fighting with retainers. One orthodontist wanted to put my child back in braces just to fix the from teeth for 6month but longer if I wanted the bit fixed(I thought we had the bit fixed already?!) and the other said to go back to a metal wire top retainer and work to get the shift if the front teeth fixed that way. She wasn’t worried about the bit much. Today we went to discuss our findings with Bettagere and her response was, “we seem to have a trust issues here,” and that she thinks she can just sent the medical forms elsewhere. Again She broke the last retainer herself(not my child) the day we went to get the plastic one so we can’t even get that replaced!? So she isn’t even willing to replace what she broke or fix the damage that was done from what I feel is lack of knowledge and male practice. Unprofessional at its finest! She must have got her feelings hurt and decided to no longer fix her wrong! Don’t go here! As a business owner myself I would never not fix something or not replace what I broke!
Oh and they did remove the setting lights from the pen holders in fortville
Original Post: Really not the happiest with this place. I know two people who used them but we had nothing but issues. We had braces on longer due to a tooth still crooked, that they were going to leave and thought was suitable. Now we have a retainer that is pushing one side more than other, which is pushing my daughters tooth back on the side. I feel they try to listen but don’t care. Also I felt there were some things Unsanitized. They setting lights(that go in the mouth) in the fortville office, are in the holder with pencils, pens, and post its. Also the orthodontist used the groove of the tables to hold the attaching files instead of the...
Read moreMy stepson has had several brackets come unglued from his teeth, at least 3 different times. The orthodontist told us the first time to watch any hard food that he eats. While my wife was on vacation, I fed him literally no hard foods. Puddings, soups, jello, yogurt, fruit cups, etc. I personally made everything for him. We still had a bracket fall off. We had a visit recently and the orthodontist basically insinuated that we weren't taking proper care of his braces and that he was still eating food causing his brackets to come unglued. This is categorically untrue. Since my wife has been back from vacation, we have not regulated his diet and he eats whatever he wants. Guess what? No brackets have fallen off in that period of time. As an engineer, the data suggests that the brackets are not falling off due to the hardness of the food that he is ingesting. I'm not an orthodontist, so I cannot say what is the true cause of this. I would just like the tone to change and civility to return and the blame to stop being placed on myself, my wife and my stepson. It is a distinct possibility that the brackets are falling off due to grinding teeth at night, but the orthodontist is dead set on blaming food, when it is clearly and demonstrably not the case as evidenced by my 4 week trial of soft food proves. There is also anecdotal evidence from his friends that have had no brackets break off and they eat hard food like chips and granola bars...
