Mobile service worker complaint! So my husband and I was here Wednesday in hopes of getting a 3rd line and a new phone for my 10 year old daughter for Christmas. I've been a long time Verizon customer and a Costco member for more than a decade. If you haven't noticed, Costco now has certain phone companys stationed at certain locations. For example, AT&T at the Fountain Valley location, Verizon at the Huntington Beach location and T-Mobile at the Garden Grove location. We didn't know this when we walked in that day due to intentional false information provided to us by the AT&T salesperson. The salesperson told us that Costco no longer contracts with Verizon or T-mobile and he reference Costco as a whole (all Costco stores). "As you can see, the booth only say AT&T." Said the salesman. When we asked why, he said that Verizon wasn't providing good services and had lost all their contracts with Costco. He also went on talking about how Verizon had all their towers bought out by AT&T and kept insisting that we switch over to AT&T. He kept stating that we needed to trade in our two existing Verizon Samsung phone lines because none of our phones have 5G. Little does he know, my phone is 5G. He kept insisting that we trade our phones in and kept insisting their was a Holiday deal that was only good for that night. That Costco was offering rebates but we had to trade in both our phones, get a new phone, add a line for my daughter AND switch over to AT&T. He did not listen nor did he care about our needs. Again, we were only there to add a line and to stick with Verizon because we didn't have good experiences with AT&T. As we both can tell he was only trying to make a sale (possibly comission) and he could care less about what our needs were. So we kindly informed him we will have to contact Verizon to see what deals they were having. He went on insisting that the deal was only good for that night. So we kindly declined and basically was forced to locate an actual Verizon store that same night. We found one and ended getting a new line with that Verizon store. Then 4 days later!!! I go to the Costco in Huntington Beach and see a Verizon vendor there. Confused, I decided to speak to the Verizon saleslady and was informed that the Fountain Valley Costco AT&T salesman lied and that informed me that Costco still contracts with Verizon, AT&T and T-mobile. So, basically my family lost out on our Costco perks because that salesman was just trying to make a sale and lied to us. This totally defeats the whole purpose of why my family continues to pay as Costco members. We were cheated out of our perks and possible rebate deals. Costco need to be aware of the people working for the vendors that they contract with. I called and made a complaint but don't know how they plan to address this. I am so upset how our time was wasted and I cant stop thinking about how unfair this is. How unfair to be cheated out of the Costco perks I deserve to have access to as a loyal paying member. That's what we all pay for. Costco needs to hold that salesman accountable for his actions and address this concern...

Not here to rate this particular Costco on their quality of food, but rather their customer Service towards the visually impaired. I am writing this at almost 10 PM after coming home from a 12 hour shift and hearing about my moms experience in this particular Costco today. I had given my costco card to my Mom today to go with a ride and get her necessities from Costco. As she waited in line and handed the cashier my card she was denied. This is not the reason for my review, but rather the way she was treated there after. My blind mother is Latina, and only speaks Spanish. Not one person who spoke Spanish explained to my mother that she needed to sign up for a new card but rather proceeded to yell at my mother as if she were also deaf. No one took the time to explain my mother the process Costco requires. My mother proceeded to explain to the manager or whomever was in charged that the reason I have a Costco card is to take her. And this is true I don’t use Costco for myself, my mother uses it. And if it was a explain correctly I should have gotten the Costco card under my mothers name in the first place. Regardless, she felt discriminated against and also racially profiled. The manner in which the manager at that time spoke to my mother is uncalled for and was very unnecessary. Once someone translated to my mother that in order for her to get her things she would need to sign up for a card my mother stated that the gentleman who did speak Spanish was extremely friendly and very polite when signing her up. I just want to make that clear that I’m only speaking about the supervisor or manager who was rude to my mother and the cashier. She felt extremely humiliated and as a visually impaired person there was no assistance available for her. She felt attacked. I believe the people that were with my mother had to translate and I know that they speak broken English. I will be personally going to your Costco and filing a formal complaint notice. Thank you And I hope you take this review and use it to improve your customer service towards Latinos and the...

Dear Costco Management,

I am writing to express my deep disappointment and frustration with a recent and experience and my first visit I had at the Costco Fountain Valley Pharmacy. I have been a loyal Costco member for nearly 10 years, and I have always appreciated the high level of customer service that Costco strives to provide. Unfortunately, my recent visit to the pharmacy did not meet these standards.

On my visit, I approached the pharmacy counter to pick up my prescription. There was no line forming and no signs indicating where the line began. I waited patiently for my turn, and when the customer in front of me was served, I stepped up to the counter. However, the pharmacy technician, Esmerelda, pointed to a random yellow line in another direction and stated that the next in line was there. I was confused and surprised because there was no one standing in that direction when I arrived.

I politely approached Esmerelda to explain that I had been waiting, and that there was no one in the direction she pointed to when I was there. Despite my explanation, Esmerelda was rude and dismissive. She refused to acknowledge that it was my turn and treated me with a level of disrespect that I have never experienced at Costco.

As a long-standing Costco member, I was deeply insulted by Esmerelda's behavior. It not only ruined my day, but it also made me question the customer service standards that Costco claims to uphold. This kind of behavior reflects poorly on Costco as a whole and could potentially discourage other customers from shopping at your stores.

I hope that this issue will be addressed promptly and that steps will be taken to ensure that other customers do not have to go through a similar experience. I believe that every customer deserves to be treated with respect and dignity, and I hope that my feedback will help to improve the customer experience at the Costco Fountain...

Terrible customer service and very unorganized. The workers here are not knowledgeable at all. I called ahead of time to ask if they had the item I wanted in stock and they said no. I had a hunch that they didn't even check so I stopped by anyway. After walking up and down almost every aisle, I couldn't find it. Before leaving, however, we decided to ask 2 female workers there who looked in the computer system but they ended up sending us to the wrong aisle. On our way out, a male worker passing out samples overheard us and told us to check the area in the back corner for our item. To our surprise, there it was -- hidden all the way on the bottom and covered by a whole bunch of other items. Someone passing out samples knew exactly where something was without having to think while the people who looked in the computer system didn't? How does that make any sense? The store itself is also one of the more smaller ones and it felt really cramped compared to the other ones I usually go to. The checkout lines are also insane and move very slowly. This is also one of the only locations that don't seem to have a self-checkout area. Their food court outside which is pretty convenient, but there aren't that many tables and benches. Despite our horrific experience, the workers were very nice and friendly. Not the best, but not the worst.

! The Costco in Fountain Valley, CA, at 17900 Newhope St, is a solid spot for grabbing deals on all sorts of stuff—think snacks, fresh produce, clothes, even big-screen TVs. It’s clean, the staff are friendly, but it can get packed, especially on weekends when it’s a total zoo with long lines. The food court’s awesome, though—can’t go wrong with that $1.50 hot dog and soda combo, always a crowd-pleaser. The gas station here is a major perk. You’re looking at super cheap prices, like $3.63 for regular and $3.85 for premium last I heard. They’ve got ten lanes with three pumps each, and new signals help you spot open ones fast. Only catch is you need a Costco membership, and it’s card-only—no cash or diesel. The parking lot can be a mess with nearby stores, and evening rush (5-7 PM) means waiting sometimes. Best bet? Swing by early morning or late evening to skip the crowds. This Costco’s great for stocking up and saving on gas, no fuss!
