I ordered a half-and-half pizza for lunch over the phone and was told it would be ready in 15-20 minutes. I arrived on time, spent a few minutes paying at the machine, and then got in line. The staff told me the pizza was not ready and asked me to wait for another 10 minutes. I mentioned that I had ordered by phone and expected my pizza to be ready. Instead of addressing my concerns, she ignored me and asked me to wait.
The situation worsened when she gave my pizza to two other customers who were behind me in line. I asked her again, and she continued to tell me to wait. Despite asking her a third time, she still told me to wait for another 10 minutes, totaling over 30 minutes past my original pickup time. I finally told her that if she didn't want to provide my pizza, I would prefer a refund. Only then did she quickly give me the half-and-half pizza that was right next to her.
She ignored me and even claimed not to know my name after several requests for my pizza. What does it mean to order by phone in this situation? Do you have a system for customers to pick up their pizza? Is this how you approach customer service?
Once, another staff member at this same location in Fountain Valley looked me straight in the face and told me I needed to flip the barcodes so they could be scanned. He repeated this twice, looking very serious. This had never happened to me at other grocery stores, where I simply place my items on the counter and wait for the cashier to scan them. He was not the cashier but a helper, and the cashiers there are generally nice. I don't understand why Costco hires extra helpers if they expect customers to do their job. Review from 2023: 1 star for being outside and with very little seating of which a lot of the seating that doesnt even have umbrellas for these really hot sunny days. Also the food ordering island is so close to the pickup area that there's a pileup of people around the area to order because everyone is standing in line and then people can't even order 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
I get it that costco wants more floors pace inside to sell stuff but having a food court outside kinda sucks when the weather is super hot or windy or rainy and with very limited seating it basically means you have to eat standing up or go sit in your car.
Not to mention the tons of vehicle traffic everyone has to walk through which a lot of people are honking because the gas station line makes you snake around the parking lot to go through so a lot of vehicle traffic is just passthrough traffic from all the gas station people... even more of a dumb design there making everyone go around the entire building to go fill up 🤦♂️
Also I was only given a paper straw for my milkshake haha like a normal straw is bad enough but these paper ones just collapse so easily...
