Terra Outdoor Living — Local services in Fountain Valley

We started looking for our outdoor furniture and were getting disappointed with the selection and quality at other stores. Everything seemed cheap and not very well built or designed. Nothing had design flair and it all seemed very run-of-the-mill and dated. On the flip side, we went to Restoration Hardware and just about choked on the prices. My wife was online and found picture of a concrete table at Terra that looked good. When we went to see it at the Terra showroom off Euclid in person, we were blown away....in a good way. Everything there had design flair. It all felt modern. The quality was way above all the other lines we had seen at other stores. Best of all, the store was merchandised perfectly into small vignettes with sets of furniture arranged into an "as used" position complete with center pieces, side tables and all the accessories that help you visualize the look as it will be in your backyard or courtyard. The store itself was a pleasure to be in. Modern wall coverings and good lighting. The sales desks were modern with a great open feeling. It didn't feel too cramped or crowded. The sales staff was all friendly and super knowledgeable. Megan, who I believe is the store manager, took care of us and couldn't have done a better job. We had an upcoming party that required some rush deliveries and she handled the process wonderfully. She found all the inventory we needed and got it to us in time (under 10 days). We kept adding and changing the order over the next 24 hours since we didn't have exact measurements when we went into the store (remember, we just thought we were getting a table, and we ended up getting over 25 pieces), but she handled the changes over the phone perfectly. Only thing that I would ding them on (4.5 stars instead of 5) was the first delivery appointment. They have a software that is very cool (if it works). They text you the day before with the delivery time. They email you with the delivery time. They reconfirm the delivery time. They tell you how many stops before your delivery. You feel very informed. We had a window of 9-11 and had it confirmed multiple times. They showed up at 1. Not a huge deal...they said they are a young company and having some growing pains. The quality and value of the furniture is worth it. Finishing up with a note about the quality and value. They make all the furniture, so they are not just a middle man or a reseller. They can afford to give a better product since they don't take the manufacture's wholesale price and double it. They are the manufacturer. You can tell by the furniture, it's head and shoulders above the competition. The best way to describe it is that it's commercial grade. I'm often at a hotel or an office building and wonder where they get their furniture that is made to hold up to hundreds of people using it per week. I now know. In fact, I work at an office building that is owned and operated by the Irvine Company. They recently redid the outdoor seating area where everyone eats lunch. It's beautiful. I noticed that they had the house brand of chairs from Terra. So here's my advice.....if you want amazing value (it's not the least expensive) but it's the best for the $$, and if you want something that feels modern, fresh, and has some design flair, then you should check out Terra. Also, you need to go to the showroom. Their website doesn't do it justice....if you can, go into the showroom and you'll get to touch and feel the quality, plus you'll get to see how the different pieces all go together. It'll give you a ton of decorating...

We were impressed with the great selection. We’ve been looking for outdoor dining for quite some time. The choices at Terra made it possible. We received great help from Tammie You could tell customer service is important to the company. She stayed with us until after closing so we could get our choices just right.

We ended up purchasing more than dining and are so pleased with our outdoor furniture The furniture was all delivered within the week

I was so impressed with delivery team too. Super professional!! They wanted to make sure everything is just right. They set everything up and made sure we were happy with all the placement.

We recommend this place to anyone who is looking for...

Idiotic shipping policy. We've spent over $3500 for a patio table set here, which we love, and in that instance the $250 delivery cost included white-glove set-up and made sense. I now want to buy my mother a rocking chair, and they want to charge $250 for delivery? For one chair? I called and asked if there were some way I could pick it up from the store instead, and she said yes - but then the next day she told me no, they've changed that policy and they also couldn't sell me the floor model. Listen, if I'm spending upwards of $800 on a chair, that doesn't necessarily mean I like to take my money and set it on fire.
