This is the best Aldi that I have visited in the area. I have been to at least 5 or 6 different Aldi's. You know the situation! My darling wife needs to get a "few" things from Aldi, and we just happen to be passing by one, and we stop to get a "few" items. By the time she is done, we have a cart loaded with everything we "need." Ha!
The reason I like this location compared to many others is that the parking is shared with a Home Depot, and if the lot is busy, you can always find a spot. There is also easy in-an-out access to Rand Rd. through the main Home Depot lot. No dreaded left turns onto a busy 4 lane road!
It is also great from my perspective to drop her off and then run to the Depot to grab a few items. I have to be quick! She is a fast shopper and with the self-checkouts she can be in and out in less then 20 minutes depending if it is really a "few" items or our weekly build up of items we need for the family.
It is well kept and clean, and the isles are maintained and stocked, but it can get nuts during a holiday and / or at peak times, which is understandable for most...
Read moreI always thought that this store was cheap low quality foods, but it’s not. It is off brand foods that don’t charge you for their advertising. Chips, crackers, sauces, peanut butter are just some of the items they carry. Meats, cheeses, pizza and other kitchen items are always there and new items always showing up. Don’t ignore this store, but bring your own bags because they don’t have and there. Don’t expect fancy, but expect variety and great prices. An example would be various brown mustards, which are expensive in the regular grocery stores, but not at Aldi’s. You could buy three bottles of different mustards compared to only one elsewhere. Read moreI have been an Aldi shopper for years and I have to say the new look is very nice as is being able to pay with credit cards. I personally prefer the smaller store but it's hard to argue with a much nicer meat selection and the fish is great. I still have to make trips to one of the larger grocerys but not as often. It's interesting that I shop both the Round Lake and the Fox Lake Aldi's and each store has its own little claim to fame. Some of their product is so much better than the name brand from the big box stores. The cottage cheese and yogurt alone is worth the trip. The cheeses not so much. Bring your bags, try their store brands and fish, oh and the produce never...
