Like most of the strip malls built in past decades, Riverpoint is no longer fully occupied; empty storefronts always create a certain amount of doubt about the vitality of a commercial complex. However, Riverpoint attracts a loyal clientele through its strong anchors (Best Buy, Walgreens, and a sporting goods store), as well as a classic deli that offers the best corned beef (Benji's), and a take-out pizzaria that offers Chicago style deep dish pizza (Lou Malnati's). We are pleased to note that while other stores come and go, the Lands End outlet persists. If you're not familiar with them, they are an organization that teach people with special needs how to be independent through job, baking, and work skills training. The staff are so friendly. I highly recommend the Caprese Sandwich served with kettle chips or the Margarita flat bread pizza. You may also want to try the caramel cream with whipped cream.
