What a wonderful find. Formosa Market is a gem and I'm so happy we found them. We live in NH and I was searching everywhere for staples we use and the owner was a delight to work with. If you have any questions, just call or email. The online customer service representatives were nice, but they can't answer questions right away. Quality of products were fantastic. The produce we ordered were excellent (Radish, Chives, Flower Chives, Taiwanese Cabbage, Bok Choy, Mustard Green, Eggplant, Bitter melon, mini bok choy). That's a major plus. Typically we would go down to MA every 6 months and buy our staples but get so frustrated that we drive for 2 hours and come back with a limited amount of produce. The asian groceries in Burlington and Malden are not very good and you can't get anyone to help you. HMart in NJ was chalked full of fresh vegetables at a cheap price when we visited last summer but the one in MA has rotten gross vegetables with stupid high prices. The health department should really do something about those major stores selling products like that. It is super frustrating. With this service, we know we can get many of the items we need or even treats we love. You can trust that the owner will do the best they can to get high quality products to you. We have been shopping with Instacart and Whole Foods lately, but you order vegetables and the shoppers pick rotten bruised produce and you tip on top of that. It's not rocket science to maybe choose the potato that doesn't have mold on it or the leafy greens that look gross and rotten. You can always leave a note at the end to make sure you get what you're looking for with Formosa Market. They go above and beyond. With customer service lacking in our world today, they are an amazing example of what customer service should look like! I am so happy to have found them and we have been feasting all week. I am also so happy to support a local business. We have not gone into the grocery stores since the pandemic started, so we are so thankful for Formosa Market. The owner even said we could try to request items, and they would try to find them. They are doing their best to protect their staff and keeping them healthy. At the same time, they are reaching out to the community to make sure we can get the foods we enjoy and love. THANK YOU Formosa Market! Big 10 stars from our picky Taiwanese Family. We plan to use you for many years to come. Such a...
Read moreMy wife and I discovered this market a few years ago after visiting the excellent Szechuan Gourmet Restaurant just upstairs from it. We always love finding suppliers of Asian groceries, and Formosa is a really good one. Small but solidly stocked with Japanese, Korean, Chinese and Southeast Asian food supplies, it's great to have this source out in Boston's western suburbs.
Because of COVID-19, I was recently looking for a place that would have curbside delivery of Asian snacks. Formosa popped up online. Like many other grocery stores, it has improved its online presence and delivery efficiency to fit the times, and my last experience didn't disappoint. Online ordering was efficient. Pickup times were restricted to only certain hours each day, with no customers allowed inside the store. There's a good sized parking lot there, and when I arrived for pickup, a number of people were already lined up to pick up their orders at the main door. Everyone was masked and spaced in orderly fashion. Occasionally someone came out from the store and collected order numbers, then going back inside to get them. Numbers were called, and customers got their stuff and were on their way. Very efficient and polite service. Highly...
Read moreWonderful store! I don't know how the owner does it, but she manages to pack everything that I would want in a small store. The trade off is that there is typically just a few brands of a particular item, but if you stock the right brands (and she does), one is all you need.
The other thing that keeps me going back is that the place is clean-without all the weird smells that sometimes plague other Asian grocers. I used to think that it was unavoidable because of the spices and food that they carry, now I...
