There’s only one way to describe Port City Smokehouse. The best way to describe them is “fantastic to the 10th power!!!”. I absolutely love Port City Smokehouse. I was born in the 90s and my parents / family always brought me to this place in the early 2000’s when I was growing up while we were making our many yearly trips to Frankfort. This place “was / is” a major staple for my family while we are vacationing in Frankfort. Everything they have here is absolutely fantastic and full of flavor. My mouth is absolutely watering as I’m writing this review. I can definitely say I have had ZERO negative experiences here. Some of my favorites they have are: all of the fish pate’s, the smoked fish, the smoked fish sausage, and pretty much anything off there freshly cooked fish takeout menu. There are many other items I love they have as well. Now as a young adult, I still love coming here and I plan on bringing my future children here. They truly put a lot of love and care into everything they do. You can definitely tell they are family owned and operated because of all the love and care they put into everything they do. I highly recommend that you give Port City Smokehouse a try. It definitely will not disappoint you. Also please be patient with them and other local businesses during these hard times. Port City Smokehouse makes everything fresh; people fail to understand that when things are made fresh and with care, it takes time. Thank you so much Port City Smokehouse for all the amazing lifetime experiences I’ve had so far. I’ll be stopping in soon because I will be in Frankfort for 11 straight days! And I will not be just stopping in once. I’ll be stopping in many times! Last year I stopped in...

Sorry to have wasted a precious meal at this place. The fish sandwich was bland and average. The whitefish tacos were below standard for Taco Bell. We thought the smoked salmon wrap would be their own smoked fish; instead, it was a thoughtless mass-produce wrap with a few scraps of salmon, lettuce, and two cherries. Their ACTUAL smoked fish may be fine, but would not recommend to those visiting the Sleeping Bear Dunes area.

Edit - response to Response from owner: First, please don't try and use my review to peddle your wares. The flash-fried fish was NOT awesome, though I could recommend several places in the area that ACTUALLY do have awesome fish sandwiches. I'm sure your smoked salmon is decent, if one could afford the RIDICULOUSLY expensive prices; its a true shame though that your mass-produced wraps are made with some other substandard salmon, and that you are not transparent enough to...

I went in to check out this nice little local Smokehouse and I was super happy with their selection of fish and other meats. I have tried their smoked peppered salmon which is so good and makes a delicious treat. I also got a Fiesta Salmon Pâté which really tasty and good for sharing on crackers. I also tried the lake trout pâté and the white fish pâté both of which were really good. I also tried their peppered beef jerky and even their insane beef jerky. They both were really good, I will have to warn you though that the insane beef jerky has a really good kick and might not be for you if you can’t handle a good bit of spice. The people that served me were super cool, they felt like family, and were just super nice and helpful. 10/10 would recommend and I plan on coming back when I’m in the...

Asked for a 1/2 BBQ RIBS with Cole sław on a Saturday @ 1pm ... Had to throw them all out and the cashier even admitted they were “yesterday’s ribs” . Physically unable to take a bite out of them. So dry and cold. I purchased a salmon wrap instead and also paid a full price. Was not even offered a discount or an apology. Definitely will kit come back. Salmon wrap also pre-made straight from the fridge. Huge disappointment....

3 hungry grown men very much enjoyed and inhaled three half pounds of fried fish (smelt, trout and walleye) and a sampler pack of smoked fish (trout, salmon and whitefish). Every bite was incredible and even magnificent, depending on your personal preference of fish and style of preparation. The atmosphere is basic but clean with some outdoor tables to eat the fresh fish. 100% will return!
