PSA to all pet owners Food Lion in Royston Georgia is NOT pet friendly. I was shopping there today, my dog Tucky (a four pound Chihuahua) was in her bed in the baby seat of the cart. As I was checking out a lady who I assume was the manager came up to me and asked if my dog was an emotional support animal. I just said yeah because I wasn't about to get into anything with her. She then says. "Well she needs to have a vest on because Food Lion doesn't allow pets". I didn't get loud or even mad. I just said "okay that's fine we will just never come back to your store" and I paid for my stuff and left. I could understand if I was walking a bull Mastiff around the store that was climbing on people. But my dog was just sitting in her bed. I bought a few items at Food Lion over time, and what I purchased was good quality. Prices are higher than I think they should be. That is why I don't buy there more often. I fix meals for my mother and myself, which means I cook for two households. It is a pain to get the best price for sale items. Sometimes I don't need two or three of something to get a better price option. Single people have to eat too, but don't meet the family volume of purchases. I hate shopping there. The music is way too loud and I couldn't even consenttrate on what I needed to buy because of it. And bad music at that. I talked to several customers there about it and they were annoyed with the music as well. I spoke with the people who work there and was told that they cannot turn it down . That home office controls it. This is a little county town and people don't like hearing that loud annoying music while their shopping. That's probably why there was hardly anyone there and the grocery store down the street is full.
