Worst customer service. I called service regarding my Toro snowblower for a gas leak and associated tank recall. When I dropped off the unit, Harry treated my wife and I as if we were an inconvenience. I told him I am only dropping it off for the recall if that is the issue, but I do not want anything else fixed, as I would be rebuilding the carburetor before winter. A few days later I received a phone call that the tank was already replaced and the leak was coming from the carburetor. I declined the repair and went in to pickup the snowblower. I was charged an estimate fee, although I was never provided with an estimate to fix the unit. When I questioned this, the store clerk said I would need to take it up with Harry, since the charge was written on the sheet. So as to not make a second trip, I paid the fee and had her leave a note for Harry that I wanted to discuss. When Harry called me back the next day, I was told by him that "I don't work for nothing" and had to pay it to get the snowblower back. Had I known that there would be a charge, I would never have left the snowblower to begin with. I brought it in specifically for the recall issue on the tank and faulty fuel line, no repairs were done and yet I was still charged for an "estimate" that I was not given. This charge was not explained or communicated to me when I dropped of the snowblower, nor did I see any visible signs regarding this fee. Had I been aware of this charge, I would not have left my snowblower but taken it home with me to fix myself. I found Harry to be both rude and unprofessional. Needless to say, I will not be returning to this Ace, and will advise others not to as well. Travel the extra distance to another location...
Read moreI never read the reviews for this place, but I guess I should have. I’ve had small engines worked on twice by this place & they’ve gotten them working for me both times, so no issues there. This second time was quite odd... customer service was definitely lacking. I brought in a basically brand new snowblower that wouldn’t start (very frustrating). Whoever checked it in wrote it up as a tune up at first. I said, “I don’t think it needs that man, the thing is brand new.” He said, “oh, so just get it running then?” He seemed irritated by that for some reason, but wrote it up nonetheless. I asked him to save the gas if the tank needed to be drained, because I had just filled it up with premium non-ethanol gas. He said, “ok.” Lo and behold when I pick it up, the gas tank is completely empty & they didn’t save it for me. Lovely. It was probably $15 worth of gas. What did they do with the gas, did they steal it? It also was kinda pricey to get it running. I think $90 for a carb rebuild is a little costly. I’m also not so sure it actually needed a rebuild, as the damn thing was less than a year old & I ran nothing but premium non-ethanol gas in it. Bottom line: the machines work, so I can’t be mad about that... however the customer service is a bit lacking & the prices seem high. I think next time I’ll shop around. ...
Read moreLIARS ! I go to buy Stihl bar&chain oil. I see the gallon stihl platinum bar&chain oil for $18. Get to the counter and it's $28. Told them, your tag says $18. Harry the owner goes and rips off the two tags that say, "STIHL PLATINUM BAR&CHAIN". He says it's for the orange jug not the gray. Funny because Stihl PLATINUM oil does not come in an orange jug. Only gray/silver. And there were no orange stihl woodcutter gallons on the shelf nor were there any tags for them. As he probably doesn't even carry the stuff. If wondering-And the tag was not for the 1 quart, because those were $6.99. The only orange jug Stihl has is the WOODCUTTER NOT THE PLATINUM. And the orange jug woodcutter is $24.99 at that. Anyone that knows anything about STIHL knows this. This same thing happened in South Milwaukee's ACE. But at least they (SM-ACE) honored the price tag for $18 before they raised the price after I left. They (sm-ace) said it was a system error. So makes sence why it is happening at all the ACE'S. Harry did offer a 10% discount, but that only came to $25.99, still not $18. So beware his prices on the shelves will not be the same at the cash register. Called corporate as the cashier instructed and that was no help because it's personally owned. I went down the street closer to home and got the same silver/gray gallon of stihl...
