If you are a veteran or spouse of a veteran don't shop here ever. They don't honor what the previous policy was and just changed it without even saying "that because you were unaware of the change we will honor it this time but we can't do it again" That's how a good manager with proper training in customer service would have done so. However Beth the "store director" obviously doesn't have proper training. She should 100 % not be in that position. She needs to be fired or demoted. She is absolutely awful and accused me of altering my husband's veteran ID. How insulting and rude!! I had all the proof I was his spouse. I have access to my ID account to show her his military status. Our name es address everything all matches. She declined my military discount on over $400 worth of merchandise. I spend thousands of dollars in At Home stores each year (I usually shop up north not fredericksburg and im glad for that as if I had come accross Beth in the past I would have stopped shopping there stores a long time ago) Beth is the most disgraceful manager. Beth you need to learn how to treat people!! Your stores and parking lots are always empty. It appears all of your stores in VA anyway are hurting for business and to treat a good customer this way needs to be addressed by upper management and the At home Corporate office who I will be emailing. Beth you're behavior was disgusting. You need to find a job that doesn't require customer service skills cause you have none. Nice to know that this is how At Home treats there service members and there family's. There are definitely better places to shop for us. I won't be back and will be telling my friends and family to do the same. Shop Homegoods better prices and merchandise. At home is overpriced as well. Did I mention this store is dirty and disorganized as well. The other a stores (Dale City, Manassas, Chantilly) are organized and clean. Overall Beth you need to do better, get fired, or find a new line of work cause this...
Read moreLast night I purchased a deck umbrella and a stand. The stand was defective . The store is asking that I return the stand , which weighs 40 pounds . Normally that would not be a problem, if it were not for an injury to my knee limiting my ability to lift anything over 30 pounds. The store personnel was informed of my physical limitations , and they could care less. I shall have to make arrangements with a neighbor to load the stand in my car along with the umbrella I purchased. I shall return the full purchase to the store for a total refund. In as much you do not have any sympathy for handicapped individuals and wish to make no allowances for them I shall never buy from your store again. One other thing, you have no customer service phone number, hence another reason to doubt the validity of such an enterprise.
As a follow up to my previous post of 04142022, I attempted to return the merchandise the same evening of the post . The manager Nicole and a sales associate took the merchandise out of my car into the store . When I asked for a refund I was informed that I needed my receipt which I could not locate ( later was found ) . I was informed by Nicole the manager , who was far less than polite , that a receipt was necessary for a refund. When I informed her that I had alternate means of proof of purchase ( my credit card ) it was denied and I was asked to leave the store. I did without the merchandise. I later located the sales receipt which has no mention of a receipt necessary for refund. However there is a mention of a "No hassle receiptless refund " policy upon presenting the proof of purchase I tried to submit.
To be honest I felt like I was not appreciated as customer as well as I felt like I was definitely not "At Home ", but at war trying to resolve a simple refund within...
Read moreI love this store; however, the manager, Gavin, is quite rude. I have shopped here frequently and last week I purchased pots which I thought were 50% off, but I had misread the signs and so they were actually full price. After I had paid, I looked at my receipt and then told Gavin, who rung me up, that I don’t think the pots came up with the discount. I was very polite and just asking. Gavin very quickly and curtly began explaining that it’s on the sign, that only certain pots were on sale, and he rushed over to grab a sign and set it squarely in front of me, pointing out the words and volunteering that other customers were not confused by this and it’s right there on the sign. He would not allow me to respond and just spoke over me again and again repeating that, other customers were not confused by this. He responded as if I had been rude or demanded something . Normally, I would respond with , “Oh, my mistake, I’m sorry, thank you!” But Bewildered as to why I was jumped all over for just asking, I felt annoyed and even upset and just left. Once out, I called back and Gavin answered the phone. I told him that I’ve worked in customer service and it’s not necessary to be upset when a customer inquires about something and that he immediately puts people on the defense when he gets defensive and angry himself. Again he was rude but even more so, telling me I should call the corporate office if I want to complain. No level of calmness or rational talk would set him at ease. This store has lovely things at good prices but if you have a problem with an item you may get a slap in the face just for...
