If I could give a negative rating I would. Also I reported their own review as a conflict of interest. You can't review your own business. I went in to rent a washer. Having dealt with Aaron's I had an idea of the process. First they told me they were going to need a copy of my landlord's mortgage to prove it was a real place. Then they said they couldn't verify my place of employment because the hospital does their verification online and requires payment for the information and they don't pay for information. Then when they called all 4 of my references they spoke with my sister who was having a bad migraine day, she has a disorder that causes them, the girl told her to just go drink some water that dehydration was the main cause of migraines and proceeded to harass her over it, practice medicine without a license much.

They claim to be a franchise yet they actually operate under the name Blue Star Rental when calling references.

Now once they did all this checking and basically saying they wanted to make sure I wasnt trying to steal equipment and gave me a list of papers to bring in to verify my identity, income, address (they claimed to have spoken to the landlord, which he told me they never called), and verify that my employer actually existed, I am nurse for HCA one of the largest hospital systems in the country, there was something else they wanted, then they would consider renting a washer to me.

I sat in their store for 2.5 hours. When I go to Aaron's it takes about 30 minutes and I walk out with a contract and delivery the next day. I didn't need to give them my entire life story, my landlord's life story, and my employer's life story. I refused to be treated like a thief. They looked shocked when I told them so. Tried to stay it was standard procedure to fully vet each customer. Car loans don't even take that long with bad credit.

This is my 3rd time renting from rent a center in 10 years. Each time was a different state and it just gets worse. I have been treated Like a criminal the moment I'm late or behind on a payment. I've been paying off a bedroom set since last August and I'm still treated as if one day I'm going to run away with their merchandise. My husband rents a tv from Aaron's and they are always nice, respectful,flexible and understanding. The people at this location act like its their personal money and are worse then Bill collectors. I've had men banging on my door trying to collect my furniture over a week late payment and I pay once per month. I've had a police summons saying that they will put a warrent out for my arrest. Maria has argued with me and speaks to you like you're a dead beat and I'm sure I gross way more than she does working at a place like this. On Wednesday August 19, I talked to a gentleman on the phone around 4:00pm. I left at 5:25pm, plenty of time to get to the store. They said they close at 6:00pm. So I drove there, guess what? Rent-a-Center decided to close the doors early! I couldn’t turn my application in. What a waste of gas, and the aggravation as well. If you say your open until 6:00pm. Then stay closed until 6:00pm.
