I saw it driving down Route 3 and was going to go to a big franchise pizza place to pick up some pizzas for dinner, but I saw this place hiding behind the Taco Bell and Mission BBQ at the Bragg Road strip mall. First time seeing this hole in the wall. It’s a no-nonsense place.
A BIG thing. No cards accepted. Cash only. Tables piled next to each other, and there was barely enough room at the counter without bumping into each other. Every table was full when I walked in, and the place was a bit warm in the sunny afternoon. Behind the counter seems to be more of the same. Cramped and hot, but you can see the passion is there.
The menu dominates your eyeline as soon as you walk in. You see the cooler full of beverages (including beer!) to the right, but they also have fountain drinks. Also, a dessert glass with sides sits on the counter.
Even in the midafternoon, they were BUSY. Orders were coming in fast on the phone, so the lady at the counter took a few minutes to take my order. Two large pizzas with two toppings each, a salad, and a drink for my drive home was nearly $50. It was good that I had cash on me because I didn’t know about the no-card rule until I got to the counter.
The food is a solid 7.7/10. It’s much better than big franchises but the atmosphere is awesome. Great people work there; it seems like a cool spot to hang out...
Read moreI have to say, this is the best pizza place in town, for more than one reason.
First, their pizza. It's really delicious. The crust has an excellent texture, not overly gooey, but just the right amount of gooeyness. My partner used to live in New York and he says this is definitely NY style pizza. The sauce is excellent, not overly salty not sickly sweet like I've had at some places, and a flavour of basil that, if it's not fresh, certainly fooled me. They put a good amount of cheese and pepperoni so you don't feel like you have to ask for extra, and it's made fresh.
Then there's the people. They are extremely nice. Tonight, we ordered from them again and I was just blown away about how nice they were. How nice? I'm sick (not C19, got tested and everything) and my partner was willing to pick me up a pizza. Due to various reasons, he was unable to do so until almost closing time. You know what they did? They made the pizza for us anyway. The ONLY downside to this place is that they only take cash or check, but you know what? They save on credit card fees, which for a small business, is important. They are well worth taking the extra effort to get cash.
Top notch in quality, top notch in customer service . I highly...
Read moreI've been coming to this location for a few years now and this review is long overdue. I'll try and keep it shortish - the pizza and other menu items are amazing quality and priced affordably. I've had a lot of pizza from the big spots in the area (Benny's - which I think is the worst/most expensive pizza in the area, Castiglia's, Venny's, BJs Brewhouse ex.) and they are no where close to being as good as Brother's Pizza. My order today (Medium pepperoni pizza + order of chicken tenders) was a 10/10. Dough was spot on, sauce was great, perfect amount of cheese/pepperoni, and a nice crunch on the bottom with zero flop. If you want a slice that reminds you of being in NY or Jersey, then you go to Brothers. The owner and staff are always very nice and welcoming. My father and I always feel like we're part of the family when we drop in. Thanks for reading and go...
