Spotsylvania Crossing — Local services in Fredericksburg

Thank you, Jessica Ryder! She is the hairstylist who gave my son his new doo. On Sunday, March 24th, Jessica provided hair services at the Hair Cuttery Spotsylvania Crossing location. While I can't 5-star review every experience I've had at the many Hair Cuttery locations I've visited in the past, I can 5-star this one! My son and I were somewhat traumatized the day we showed up at one of the few places open to get his hair fixed up. Thanks by the way, for being open on a Sunday in our time of need. Not only does his hair look amazing, but he walked out HAPPY!!! This is big for us, considering the day we had. The moment I walked in, the stylist was so kind and gentle when I whispered in warning of his current emotional state, she didn't roll her eyes or tell me to speak up, but leaned in to reassure and identify with me. A devastated mom and child walked in, but a very happy mom and child walked out. Jessica was friendly, calm, and extremely patient. She made a point to ask him what he wanted directly and get input from 'mom.' After expressing his initial desire to have his long hair back, which I had cut earlier that day. Mind you, it was his idea to cut it. My kiddo showed her his interest in multiple wide-ranging style haircuts, and somehow she incorporated them all into one awesome haircut that was otherworldly. The idea of him getting what he wanted and repairing his self-esteem felt like an impossible task. I truly felt like I failed him miserably and she saved the day. Jessica managed to give him all the looks he wanted rolled up into one badass haircut. Best described as a short rendition of John Connors' hairstyle, the kid from Terminator 2. Ty ty ty!

In regards to the event that led us there; earlier that day I had gone to a gymnastics place for a birthday party and they ambushed us with an unofficial ponytail safety policy. Long story short, my son expressed he'd rather cut his hair than wear it in a ponytail or bun. While not attending the party was an option I gave him, I ended up cutting his hair in the parking lot per his request. I didn't even finish before he saw his reflection and changed his mind. I couldn't give him his hair back and I was the one who took it from him. I've never seen him so devastated and genuinely reduced to tears. They lasted hours, which has never happened before and he's six. I held out for as long as I could before I started crying too. It took 2 hours before I managed to get him to agree to finish the cut, but professionally. That's where the day turned around for the better. Thanks for all your hard work,...

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! AND NO FOOD!!! Unfortunately you cannot give ZERO stars. Entering the restaurant there two employees standing behind the counter. They said "sit anywhere". We took a High Top table in the bar area. There was one man sitting at the bar, a booth with four people eating, and two of making a total of seven people I the entire restaurant.

We waited several minutes before seeing anyone. A server delivered the man a the bar his food. We asked him for menus he replied, he was going home. We were in the restaurant approximately 15 minutes before we left.

Awful customer service. :-( my brother was in the middle of a conversation with an employee about the shoes he was about to spend over $200 on, when a customer walked in politely said hello and suddenly the employee just stopped taking to my brother to take care of this new customer. Meanwhile another employee came from the back and just stood behind the other guy. Completely dropped then ignored my brother until I made a snide remark about going in the back to get the other size for him. The layout isn't great either. All shoe displays on the side short walls craming customers together so when they bend over to look at something their butt rubs against you or you're blocked by a family of 3 looking at a shoe on the...
