Kumasi Supermarket — Local services in Fredericksburg

I was a customer of Kumasi for many years until the owner started openly hiking up the prices. I would get a certain price for the meat that I wanted from the back and as soon as I walk up to pay, the owner would act as if the price tag was lost. He would act as if he is going to the back to get the price and then come back up with a completely higher price than the one that was previously given to me. He did this to me twice and I acted as if I didn’t understand what he was doing until today when he ran to the back to tell the meat guy to charge me a much higher price. I immediately told them not to worry about giving me anything because I am taking my business elsewhere. The owner ran after me acting as if he didn’t understand what happened and that’s when I told him that what he is doing is not right and that I will never come back to his store again. I referred a lot of people here and I will let them all know that the owner is out right stealing from his own customers! Hopefully more Africans can open shops here so that we can have more options. As another person mentioned, I feel that the "good" reviews are fake, or written by friends of the owners. I only went in because I needed chili oil and didn't realized the Asian market across from this store was closed on Wednesdays. When I walked in the first thing I noticed was the man sitting at the front just watching the news. He looked at me, said nothing, and turned back to the television. As I walked around there was a odor of manure and maybe rotten meat that got worse as I neared the back where there was a butcher station. I looked around for another few moments and then another man popped up and offered to help. They wound up not having the chili oilI needed, but the second man was nice and seemed to care to help. That's the only reason I give this place 2 stars. It's likely I won't return, as it didn't seem like the products they offered were all that fresh...

First I feel like most of these reviews aren't legitimate. As soon as you walk into the store you get hit by a horrible stench, it makes you want to leave the store immediately. So as I was walking around the small store, I saw lots of open products and open food in the freezer. I have no idea how they are still running a business like that... I should've have taken pictures but I was trying to leave asap. I also don't see where the "outstanding customer service". The dude didn't even say hello kr anything, just sitting there watching t.v. I swear I can still smell that place... I would stay away from here if I were you....
