Moo Thru — Restaurant in Fredericksburg

Tried the new location and won’t be back. The blonde woman with glasses was so rude. Asked for coffee ice cream “we don’t do that here”. Then asked for mint chocolate chip milkshake, with response of “we don’t do that here”. Since she didn’t give much detail I thought she meant that flavor again. Then was giving more attitude about the machine being broken. Okay I get it, I’ve worked at ice cream place and it happens. We then just got some melted small scoops of ice cream and asked for the standard military discount that all moo thrus offer. “They can’t do that today because of the machine”, which makes no sense. How do you add the price of the ice cream with tax but aren’t able to calculate in your calculator 50% off for military discount? We will continue to make the drive to the...

I really wanted to like Moo Thru, but I’ve had two disappointing experiences in a row.

On 8/1/2025, I ordered two scoops on a waffle cone, but my order was given to me in a cup. When I brought it up, they handed me a stale waffle cone and expected me to transfer the ice cream myself. Needless to say, it wasn’t enjoyable and I didn’t eat it. They were also out of lemon sherbet that day, which was my first choice.

On 8/16/2025, they completely forgot my order. When I finally did get it—just one scoop of cookie dough ice cream—it turned out to be mostly plain vanilla with only three small pieces of cookie dough. Once again, they were out of lemon sherbet.

We were excited to see Moo Thru set up shop in front of the newly built Meadows Farms Nursery. They have plenty of outdoor seating available for you to enjoy their delightful ice cream. For this visit, I chose one of the items on special, the Key Lime Pie ice cream on a waffle cone. The staff was extra friendly and helpful in answering my questions and serving the ice cream.
