Owners are rude and unprofessional. I switched stylist many times due to poor color services- they even posted a before and after showing off their ”color correction” they did on my hair ... they didn’t write that both were done in their salon. I would hardly brag over that. The owner acted like they did me a favor by fixing my hair a multiple times but I felt it was necessary because they didn’t provide a good service. They charge a premium top dollar price but the results are often not up to that standard. I have invested so much time and money in this salon and left frustrated. I have given them many chances because I had what I felt like was a friendship and overlooked it too many times because I was hopeful they could do a good job. The final straw was over a microblading touch up appointment you have 2 years to use. I was pregnant and breastfeeding so I unable to receive the service for the first year and they were aware of this, then the global pandemic hit. When I finally booked my apt they only gave me one option and it was for Stafford. I took the apt and arranged for child care. I was on my way and left early and 95 was like a parking lot and lots of emergency vehicles. I called and told the receptionist who admitted other clients had also called about a huge accident and would be late. My gps stated it would be over 2 hours to go from Fredericksburg to Stafford - they told me I was technically a no show and would be charged. The owner also told me I would now be past the last day for the touch up and would need to pay full price of $550. The owner was not willing to extend the grace period by even one day irregardless of the fact they were shut down during the pandemic and acted as if time just went on as usual. All I wanted was for someone to reschedule the appointment for the next available and to honor what I had already paid up front. I was a loyal client for years and never no showed on them. I was unhappy with the way they handled it and had to practically demand my money be refunded. The owner finally agreed only after hanging up on me once- he then told me I should take my business somewhere else. I agreed with him because I was not going to support their business any longer. I have since left many reviews and told friends on Social media about my negative experience in their salon. I received a text from the owner on her personal cell phone, telling me they recorded me talking about a private matter in the salon and if I don’t stop messing with Tom (she used another four letter word) they would post it to show that I am low class and they had saved it to use against me if they needed to. I know businesses have surveillance for theft ect. But I trusted my stylist and thought what I said privately while getting my hair done stayed between us. My trust in the owners at this salon has been completely broken. The final incident happened months ago and I moved on to another hair salon and am happy but the owners recently text me because they are very unhappy I am sharing my experience. If you go here know you are being recorded and it could be used against you. I am happy and willing to provide the text messages as I am being told these things are not true and the owners...
Read moreThis is one of the most embarrassing and unprofessional experiences I have ever had at a salon. I stopped by Salon Voss last week to see if I could schedule partial highlights. I had only been there once before for a hair cut 6 months ago. I asked how much this would cost and she said $110 and up for a regular stylist and $130 and up for a master stylist. I asked about open times and the only open time I could make it required a master stylist, so I said to book the appointment. I came in today for my appointment and the "master stylist" who looked much younger than my 30 year old daughter said she would have to "run me a quote", I was only looking for partial highlights as I had recently had my hair colored. When she returned, she said it would cost between $150-170. I asked why such a discrepancy from the price I was quoted. She asked me if I wanted to speak to the manager, and I said no. I only wanted to know why I was quoted $130 or more originally and it was now 150-170 or more. She said she would get a manager and walked away, which I did not expect to happen, I did not ask to see him or complain. I am getting married this weekend, second marriage, and only wanted some highlights to look good in the camera. She came back with two other people, now I felt embarrassed. The one lady asked me what was my concern, I only stated that I was quoted one price when I set the appointment and now it is $20-40 more. Why such a discrepancy when I was only asking for partial highlights. The manager stepped in. He explained how they are not sure how much product they will need (obviously not masters then) and it could cost more if they decide to use more or if it doesn't take along the way (again, obviously not masters if they don't know that). I explained how it would just be nice to know the cost and I used to go to Dixie's Hair studio downtown and always new what I would pay. He said, "Well, and what happened to them then." Referring to the fact that they are out of business now, but after decades of running a salon. I explained that I felt like I was at an auto repair shop, the cost keeps going up when they find something else wrong and that I have always been giving costs of highlights in the past. Very arrogantly he stated, "Well, you have never been to a high end salon then." I explained I was well into my 50s and have been to many. Feeling embarrassed that there were three people around me, I said to never mind and just do the highlights. I was leaving town on Thursday for my wedding on Sunday and didn't need this aggravation. They all walked away and I was waiting for the very young lady to return and do my hair when the manager walked back, very condescending he said, "We would just prefer if you would take your business elsewhere!" I never raised my voice, I never said a foul word or complained and I never even asked for the manager, I just asked about the changing price ranges. I would never recommend anyone go to this place and based on the hair cut I got last time, I don't see why anyone would pay these prices. They offer nothing more than a hair cutters and are definitely not masters nor...
Read moreI scheduled an appointment for a balayage and cut for my daughter for her 18th birthday at this salon. She was a first time customer and went 2 days prior to the appointment for a patch test. We paid a 50$ deposit and arrived at 12:30 2 days later for her appointment. My daughter called me nearly 5 hours later, still at the salon and in tears over this horrific experience. The stylist did not communicate with her throughout most of the coloring process and ended up not only doing the balayage, but also a root melt to blend her roots after over processing her hair, left the color on too long to where it started burning the front of her scalp and never made it to actually cutting her hair! I called the shop owner to express my concerns while my daughter was still in the chair and I have never in my life spoke to someone more unprofessional. Zero customer service skills and zero accountability. Needless to say, my daugters birthday experience ended in tears and frustration. I am thankful that some of the other stylists at least had the integrity to ask my daughter if she was ok because they could see that she was visibly upset. My daughter also suffers from anxiety and low blood sugar and was almost to the point of passing out by the time she left the salon. She sat in her car for 30 minutes to calm herself and bring up her blood sugar before driving herself home. I strongly urge everyone considering this salon to read the negative reviews surrounding this business. I wish I had because after my experience with the owner, and reading others experiences I honestly cannot understand how this place is still in business. I work at Mary Washington hospital now after bartending for years in downtown Fredericksburg. I plan on sharing this experience with as many people as possible because word of mouth goes a LONG way, especially in the service industry. I also attached a picture my daughter sent to me during hour 2 of the color sitting on her hair and you can clearly see they had already missed a spot! Hands down the WORST experience we have ever had with any business PERIOD. Save yourself alot of money and tears and go literally...
