B Anu Designs — Local services in Fremont

I found Anu initially via Google when I was looking for wedding outfit designers in the Bay Area. When I was taking a look at her website, I found a bridal lehenga that I absolutely fell in love with. It reminded me of a Sabyasachi lehenga but with a twist. The catch was that I would need to set up a call to learn more about it and pricing. I'm not a fan of video calls, but I still signed up since I loved it that much. From the first moment, we interacted, I was impressed by Anu's professionalism, passion, and straightforwardness. During this initial call, she told me a bit about herself and asked me about myself. We discussed the lehenga I had in mind and my budget. At that time, I told her that I would get back to her as I had a few personal challenges going on at that time and we were unsure of the wedding date.

Fast forward a few months and we had a date, but it was 3 months out. My husband and I immediately reached out to Anu and she asked us to come in to take a look at her collection. She spent quite a bit of time speaking with us, explaining the process, and getting a better idea of our vision. We didn't purchase that day as we wanted my parents to take a look. The moment my mom walked in, she was pleased with Anu's collection. My mom pulled out a lehenga that I hadn't even considered initially (it was a yellow one, but I was looking for something in the pink/red family). We spoke with Anu and Anu suggested some customizations to the lehenga in terms of the color, design, and style. I called my dad and he helped us finalize the wedding lehenga. During the same visit, we also finalized my husband's full outfit (head to toe) so that the colors would match mine. Anu took our measurements and we were ready to go. It was a seamless experience and my parents enjoyed it as well.

A few weeks later, Anu asked me to come in as my outfit's swatch had come in. I was so impressed as I wasn't expecting this. It looked beautiful and I gave her my go-ahead. During this visit, I also asked Anu if she could help with the jewelry, bangles, kaleera, and the payals. Although she didn't carry bangles, kaleera, and the payals, she asked that I send her some inspiration photos and that she would take care of it. We also tried out the jewelry at her shop and put aside a set that I loved. We ended the appointment by popping the Rose with a cute "say yes to the dress" moment.

With COVID, there were some delays in the delivery date, but Anu went above and beyond to fulfill our delivery. She also had my blouse altered to the current measurements (lost some weight) and even brought the completed blouse to my house. She also steamed the outfits and packaged everything so well for my husband and I. This was literally a one-stop shop!

We both received many compliments on our outfits during the wedding! I reluctantly took mine off after 15 hours of wear I will definitely be coming back to Anu's for other events! I highly recommend BAnu, you will not be disappointed.

I don’t even know where to begin with Anu, but before you stop reading this review, the one word I will say about working with her and creating my multiple pre-wedding and wedding outfits is “PERFECTION.” It all started on my 2nd last day in California when I realized her boutique was near where I had been living. I called her right away and told her my situation that I had plans to fly out the next day and move to the East Coast, but really wanted to see her designs in person. She was very accommodating with her crazy busy schedule and gave me a slot to come in. I went in and had my family and bridesmaids from Canada and other states on a Zoom video meeting so they could be part of the experience. Anu was very welcoming, and her goal is to make you the outfit you are dreaming of with the help and guidance of her creative mind. Her boutique made me appreciate her designs and I had such a wonderful time trying on so many outfits I loved. Anu made me feel confident she would be willing to work with me even long distance to give me everything I have been looking for. Before I left that day, we took some preliminary measurements. After I decided to go with Anu for all of my Indian outfits the design process began. Even virtually she was so great with follow ups via WhatsApp and phone calls. We started by going through my vision for each outfit, color selection, and design sketches. I am a very detail-oriented person and Anu worked with me to perfect every detail of each outfit. My biggest goal was to create something unique for each event and she made sure that happened. She was very honest about her thoughts and also understood exactly what my visions were for my outfits. I had swatches mailed to me, multiple message, video, and phone call discussions, even video measurement sessions. I know nothing about taking measurements and Anu walked my husband and I through the process, and all of our outfits were made to fit like a glove. She nailed it. Throughout the process I was sent photographs of my pieces coming to life. The creation process to final products was amazing to witness. It made me even more confident in my decision to work long distance with Anu and have my outfits made. When I received my outfits, I could not have been happier. They were packaged so wonderfully. The quality of the material and the work was the best of the best. I cried at how beautiful the pieces were and to see everything I had dreamed of come to life was surreal. Anu is very passionate, talented, & kind. During my wedding week I felt so beautiful dressed in the best and most unique designs. My family and friends were in awe, and everyone needed to know where my outfits came from. If you are looking for reasons to go with B Anu for your bridal designs, I can give you a hundred. I was certain that for my wedding, my family and I would go to India to find our clothes. When the pandemic hit, I knew that was no longer an option and it worried me to no end, that was until we learned about B Anu Designs. My sister and I immediately fell in love with Anu’s work and her beautiful showroom, so much so that we purchased 8 outfits from her for various wedding-related events, in addition to a number of accessories (jewelry, bags, jute, etc).

My sister went into Anu’s showroom and found two beautiful outfits, which she ultimately selected as her Sangeet and Reception dresses (w/ a few modifications that Anu happily customized). Both dresses (pictured) were unique and showstoppers.

My approach was to start from scratch. I had an idea, but wasn’t sure how to articulate the vision. Anu patiently worked with me to understand what I wanted, provided honest and critical feedback on what she thought would work and would not work from a design perspective, and then sketched pieces that aligned with my vision. Along the way, she would update me on the progress her team was making, shared swatches for my approval, and delivered beautiful pieces that I will cherish for years to come. On top of that, Anu designed beautiful jewelry that accompanied all of my bridal outfits for the Sangeet, Wedding and Reception. I’ve already worn a few of those pieces for other events since my wedding (I love them). Anu proved time and again that she was trustworthy, reliable and responsive to my questions or concerns.
