Hereās what you get at Fremont Park: -terrible service -abysmal conditions -deceptive policies -poor value
The only thing it has going for it is that there is no wait to play on a weekendā¦because everyone knows to avoid this course already.
I had never played here because $33 can get you a lot more if you play elsewhere. My friend and I wanted to play a round last minute and everywhere else was booked so we decided to try out Fremont Park. Found a tee time on GolfNow to save a few dollars.
Upon checking in, we were told that anyone who books on GolfNow MUST pay for a cart. What if you like to walk? Nope, youāre paying for a cart. Even if you leave it behind and still walk, you will be forced to pay for a cart. It is obvious that the course forces this charge to act as a fee so they can collect more money from people who booked on GolfNow. It is actually more expensive to book on GolfNow and then pay a cart fee. This policy is not clearly stated on GolfNow nor Fremont Parkās website.
After dealing with that money grab, the manager came outside to tell us we only paid for 9 holes and must stop golfing after 9 holes. Uhm, duh? Iām guessing he had some misconception that if you book on GolfNow you are a poor thief who needs to be reminded of such things. Keep in mind he did not issue this reminder to anyone else before, after, or around us.
We played our round and the course was in terrible shape. Patchy, rough, greens with weeds. Signs that were so old that only the advertisements were legible. Muddy cart paths. Lopsided and grass-less tee boxes.
I wish this were not the case. We need more golf courses in the Bay Area. But if Fremont Park continues to operate like this, it is pretty obvious that it is not sustainable and they will go out of business.
My least favorite course to date and Iāve have played about 300+ rounds in the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI wish I could give this golf course zero stars. It was the worst experience I ever had on a golf course. The management was rude, and the course was poorly maintained.
The management treated me like I didn't belong there. They gave me a hard time about my using the Golf Now app to book a tee time, They also charged me extra fees for things that were not disclosed when I booked the tee time.
The course was in terrible shape. The fairways were patchy, the greens were bumpy, and the bunkers were full of rocks. The tee boxes were uneven and the yardage markers were inaccurate. The cart paths were cracked and the water hazards were stagnant. It looked like they hadn't done any maintenance in years.
I will never play this golf course again, and I advise anyone who values their time and money to avoid it. It is a waste of both. There are much better golf courses in the area, with friendly staff, well-kept courses, and reasonable prices. Don't waste your time and money on this one. You...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUpdate: Finally, I had a chance to play the 9 hole course... wasnāt impressed. The price is expensive for how they take care of the course. The tee boxes are horrible half the time you canāt tell what direction you are teeing off towards. The course has squirrel holes all over it and is hard as a rock, even in the fair way. Mission Hills, which is north up mission Blvd about 5 miles is much better and is cheaper. If you can play well on this course, then you should play great on a good course.
I never actually golfed the 9 hole, but I use the driving range sometimes. They have shaded self tee and unshaded automatic tee where you dump your basket in the tray, and it auto tees a ball for you. You can raise the tee or lower to your preference, but it's still pretty cool. They do have a pro shop that offers lessons for...
