Patchy summary of experience: Been here a few times, they offer simple & basic bagel sandwiches that you feel you can’t go wrong with. Today we ordered & 30 minutes went by and we still did not have our order (two bagel sandwiches drip coffee and a cappuccino.) 3 couples got theirs before us when they ordered after. Then a family of four who ordered nearly 25 minutes after us. Finally figured it’s time to ask. The guy who took our order started looking for it, he couldn’t find it or the ticket anywhere so I told him what our order was. I sat back down and when he asked what appears to be one of the owners about our order she yelled she already made it. Well clearly not. I went back up and repeated my order to the guy and asked if we could get our coffees in the mean time, he said yes and brought out two iced coffees. We said those aren’t what we ordered and I asked if they knew what our order was & if they had the right ticket. He said yes. They did not. It was constantly assumed that our order was one that was already made even after repeatedly stating my order. The only one trying to figure this out was the original guy who checked us out. He was apologetic but the owner who you can clearly hear answering the employees questions about our order was not and rude. Finally we were asked to repeat our order and it was written down.
Reasons given for why it got missed: it got busy after we ordered.
3 other people, while we are still waiting, had their orders messed up AND FIXED at this point.
Then while still waiting for our order (turning past the 45 min mark) two apparent friends of the owner came in, she walks out to hug them stopping from work. Yet all these mishaps and mistakes are happening at the expense of customers time. She takes their order personally and gets them two mama z’s and their coffee out within 5 minutes. We still do not have our order at this point.

Read moreThis place used to be godsend. I remember the lines were out the door on most days and you would never have a place to sit. It was the talk of the town and everyone was head over heels.
Here we are, back again after a long time and we ordered ahead to avoid any lines. The app we ordered through even told us that our food would be ready at 10:10. We arrived at 9:55 and walked into a pretty empty store with dozens of to-go bags - people ordering online just like us. The catch here is that our order was sitting there ready at 9:55. So when did they make it? And why weren’t we notified? And why so early? We could’ve came here earlier or ordered later if we knew this was going to happen. There were bags sitting there that had pickup times of 11:20!!! GROSS.
You can see where this is going. Our toasted bagels were hard, inedible, cold, soggy, and completely disgusting.
We wasted 40 minutes driving here, wasted $10-15 on our food, wasted $10 on toll and gas, and now leaving home for another 40 minutes drive back.
EDIT: I see your response. You could’ve written my name correctly first of all. I do understand that I could’ve gone inside and notified you guys and potentially got a remake - but I was on a time crunch and have a baby, and your weekends are so busy that it would’ve taken some time. Please understand that not everyone has that kind of time, which is why we ordered ahead in hopes that it would be fresh.
I don’t see an incentive for me to come back, but who knows. I know you are a small business but I think feedback/criticism is important. I can always change it if things change.
Lastly, please just try to stick to the time window that you are committing to, I believe a customer deserves at least that.
EDIT #2: I appreciate you finding our order and...
Read moreI went into this place pretty skeptical. They claimed to be NYC-inspired, and I’m NYC-bred—so if anyone knows a good NYC bagel, it’s me. It was 1:05 PM and they closed at 1:30, and to my surprise, the place was busy.
We ended up trying a few different things. I got the za’atar bagel with scallion cream cheese. My husband had Mama Z’s turkey sandwich on a za’atar bagel and a mint iced tea. My nephew ordered a cheddar jalapeño bagel with plain cream cheese and another sandwich to-go.
The service? No complaints—friendly and efficient.
The mint iced tea was a 10/10 for my husband. He describes it as “authentically flavored and refreshing”. For me it was a 3/10 because I found it bitter and ironically, almost too fresh. But that’s how different taste buds and different opinions work. 🙂
Price-wise, it felt average for today’s standards: around $12 for a bagel sandwich, $6 for a bagel with cream cheese, and $6 for the iced tea. Not cheap, but nothing shocking either.
Now, the bagels? 10/10. Seriously. The flavor, the texture, the quality—everything was on point.
If I’m ever craving a real NYC bagel, I know exactly where to go. Excited to have...
