The worst part was after one of the employees informed me the manager would like to speak with me, the manager came in and instead of letting me step away from my group who were still enjoying the axe throwing, began raising her voice across the room at me explaining her side of things (one of my guests had left and wanted a refund and got very upset when it was denied) I tried to gently interrupt because at that point she was yelling, pointing another one of my guests out and interrupting their activity and she told me no, and continued to yell at me about how they couldn't physically give refunds. I had already asked on behalf of my guest and was understanding and messaging him calming him down as well but the manager would not let me get two cents in. Everything else was manageable and I understood with how the refund policy was posted so often that it was unlikely- despite the only reason he wanted a refund is due to lack of communication on their end about my 6/5 guests per room. The manager was very unprofessional and out of line. I wish she would have at least had the decency to walk with me aside or wait until we were done instead of interrupting my husband's birthday celebration. I know they were busy. I know they had upset customers yelling at them (someone was upset they couldn't wear Crocs to smash glass-not the business fault and they have plenty of signage saying close toed shoes, it should be common sense). BUT, communication needs to be improved. I had seven people attending - 6 for smash room, 5 for axe throwing but bought 6 bundles (eating the cost of one axe room) - this was communicated over the phone before I booked and anywhere I could say it. Don't tell people their timer has started and then ignore them to take a phone reservation aaaand radio other information to employees. Every person that was assigned to give us the rules of the room sped through the explanation and looked inconvenienced if we asked questions - but they have tip jars and send both text and email afterwards asking for tips-they should really just pay their employees. Also the ambiguity of the "extras" while booking needs to change- if all of my party is throwing at one station- one after the other with only one weapon (instead of allowing each person to throw one spear one time if they pay the bonus), there should be no need to charge more than one bonus - we did not need three spears for one person to throw- I was under the impression we would all have our own target and be throwing at the same time. Probably another reason they have the no refunds policy - to get more money for extras we didn't need because it wasn't clear on the website. Edit because I cannot respond to the business response the only thing offered as compensation for their terrible experience was to go again- NO ONE in my group wants to be put through that again and I do not want to be yelled at by your "manager"again when I did nothing wrong. Clarify axe throwing details on your website including how one group throws on one lane one after the other as well as how extras work because your current system is not clear or sensical. Don't promote managers that are so hot headed they make situations 1000 times worse by yelling at people who are trying to de-escalate, apologize for their guest, and understood the refunds policy but had calmly asked for an exception due to circumstances out of our control and the lack of communication on your teams part during booking and check in process. Please accept responsibility for your businesses mistakes, lack of professionalism and poor...
Read moreLet me start by saying the staff is great. Been to this location twice and they are very helpful and welcoming.
My stars are based on my personal opinion of the price/cost versus fun/activity.
We first tried out the axe throwing room after finding a discounted rate on a groupon like site. We went with 8 people and had a blast throwing the axes/knives/spears around. That was awhile ago and they have since upgraded with a lot more cool features like a projector that has games that project on the target and such so I can only imagine its more fun now.
We recently tried the paint room and rage room and I will start by saying overall we had a good time.
The rage room you get to pick you weapons, they have protective gear (Helmet, gloves, overalls) to keep you safe and the room is setup so you got a few ways of smashing up the stuff. We paid for the cheaper option which already was a bit more than I would have expected and they advised that most people go through that within the first 10-15 minutes so on site we upgraded to their deal of the day to add more stuff for an add on price. But in the end we still finished after 15 minutes although I have to say I was wore out from using the sledge hammer so overall the time and objects to smash were not terrible but it was over $100 for that 15 minute experience.
The paint room was a small room with a white board and for the cheapest price you get a few bottles (12oz I think) to squirt around. Before going in we had ask how long to expect that to last and they advised on what they have seen to be the best price to fun way to make it work. In the end we ran through the paint after 15 minutes and finger painted a bit on the board before calling it a day and still having 10 minutes of the paid time left. The paint had an odor and the provided poncho's were not big enough for my 6foot 400 pound self and they were thin so wouldnt have expected much from them anyways.
My biggest concern overall is the price. I ended up paying nearly $300 for less than an hour of fun in both rooms (this included a video add on because I wanted to save the experience). While this might be more of a personal opinion, but I feel like for that price there should be unlimited things to smash and unlimited paint. Rather than having my fun limited to how much I can pay, if I am paying for the room the best way to have fun is not be limited in my creativity and activity.
Lastly for the paint side of things. I wouldnt say this is their fault, as I could have made some common sense judgements but paint gets everywhere (if you are having the most childlike fun you can with it). And the only cleanup is a sink in the bathroom and some paper towels. I would recommend they look at installing a small changing stall for folks to be able to wash up and change. Because we planned on going to eat after, but ended up getting fast food because you just cannot get rid of the paint.
So all in all, it was fun and I would recommend if for folks who the price doesnt scare off. But if you look at the price and are not sure if its worth it, you might be like me...

The axe throwing needs a bit of work. The staff running the show was good and pleasant.
For newer axe throwers it will be ok but if you have expectations from other axe throwing facilities you will find it doesn't meet the mark.
Axes are heavily damaged and dull. It presents more like hammer throwing. Even the instructor failed to sink and axe, not at all to her fault given the wood condition.
The wood is more like the kind of wood you build a deck out of, so even a direct hit with the blade will likely bounce right off. A harder wood does not need to be maintained like the standard pines used in conventional axe throwing so my guess is that it comes down to cost and saving money. Some is even pressure treated. Spraying water on pressure treated wood is going through a routine seen at other facilities without the understanding of what the purpose is.
As seen I. The attached photo, one slat of wood was so hard, we could not even make a mark (just dents with the cutting edge of the axe).
I highly recommend checking out their other options as we likely will, but if your expecting a standard axe experience, it's not the place to go (yet).
I firmly believe that with a few minor changes and less penny pinching over wood targets, that this place could really be cool. The staff is good, and the environment is cool. Care for your axes and use the right wood. Also position the guide lines proper and the guests will have a great time!
EDIT: They mentioned they have upgraded their axe throwing. I'll have to go back and give...
