I was in Raley's on Tuesday. In the afternoon about 3. I went there specifically for some deli items. There was one person, wing Kama making a sandwich for a customer. There was no one else behind the counter. Wing did not acknowledge me as I waited for service. After maybe two minutes, as he continued to make the sandwich, I asked him if there was anyone else working at the counter to help me. He said he was going to call someone which I think he did. However as I look behind me I saw a young lady working E cheese rack and stocking the cheese section in the deli department. I looked at her directly and she look back at me 2 or 3 times and she continued to work her items. Never acknowledge me never asked if she could help me. I began to walk off towards the front of the store and leave without purchasing the items I came in for. But I ask myself if that was appropriate for me to do and allow that type of service to go unchecked. So I went to the front and spoke to the front end manager. Told her what happened and she over the microphone for all to hear asked for help in the deli Department which was for me obviously. By the time I returned to the deli that young lady that did not help me was waiting on a white woman that had come in behind me. The clerk apologized and I chastise her for ignoring me after deliberately looking at me three different times. Being a minority is Tough Enough in this town. But when you can't get service that white people can get doesn't make you feel welcome at all. I stopped coming into Raley's for a couple of years because of experiences I've had like that one. I'm a retired UFCW employee for 30 years in the grocery business. I'm sorry to see that customer service still is subject discrimination is sometimes based on your appearance rather than being fair to everyone. If there was any other store in Galt that carry the products that Raley's carries, like Safeway for example, you never see my face in that store. Thanks for asking about...
Read moreMy wife and I shop at this Raley's at least once a week and we have brought to their attention multiple times that their parishable products are on the shelves for sales with expired dates. Many have been over a month old! In addition to always having to check the dates of every product to avoid food illness, it takes double the time to shop and get checked out. The checkers need customer service training. They can't work and talk at the same time which leaves the customers waiting in long lines with their perishable items. This Raley's serves many people who live in the country so time is precious to get the product from store to refrigerator.
Management needs to make changes now. Walmart is looking much better as my extended family has already stopped shopping at the Raley's. If you want the community to support this location you need to make...
Read moreHave this store one star because there isn't an option to go lower. There are several reasons this store is rated so low. There's not enough baggers for the prices you pay. Went to deli and was told the cheese slicer was being sanitized. I asked if I could return when it was done in 15 minutes. When I returned they were telling me at 6pm the slicer was down for the evening. I know the deli doesn't close at that time. When I get home and look at my cheese it's all slopped together and stuck. Honestly I could and will go to Wal-Mart where the chesses are less expensive and the customer service is superior compared to raleys. This store has gone down hill the workers don't seem to have good morales about working there. Surprised this store is still...
