Note: This review is SPECIFICALLY for the Boise, ID South Eagle Campus, mainly for the GED Basic Skills program in the Mallard Building. This does not speak of the entire College as a whole.
I went here back in 2015-2017 to get my GED. Ended up doing my studies on my own due to how the classes were poorly manged: Teachers that go too fast, don't explain everything you need to learn, and don't assist you when you have a problem. They didn't help me (or any other students in the program, frankly) with understanding anything that we needed to learn for the GED test. The most they offered was a small study lab with a few computers and some student tutors that don't seem like they are qualified for aiding with GED prep. That was it. So I ended up studying on my own with KhanAcademy online.
Recently, I went back (After I got my GED in 2017) to see if anything had changed. Nothing has really improved, in fact it seems to have become worse. There are many foreign-origin students in here struggling to learn English and Math, both young and middle-age. If I didn't know better, the teaching staff has become even more rude, cold, and rushed. I saw one of the tutors trying to sort out a problem with a student having trouble understanding one of the teachers, and the teacher's responses seemed rather... impatient, angry and unprofessional. This isn't the only time this has happened, nor is it limited to just one teacher or staff member. This place isn't worth your time if you are coming here to get your GED prep. It's a very hostile learning...
