Smallcakes: Cupcakery, Creamery & Coffee Bar — Restaurant in Idaho

I'm changing my review because I do feel like my first experience was a one off. If you're looking for something specific in design, they may not be able to but they make up for it in taste and friendliness! After having a bad experience, the owner Michelle, contacted me herself, with an extremely genuine apology and offered to reimburse me for the cupcakes. I was reimbursed and given 4 cupcakes. I was greeted by the manager, Taylor, and he was extremely sweet. They went above and beyond to change my experience and I'm not going to lie, they have amazing cupcakes! Their shop is so cute! I will be back and can't wait to try all their cupcakes. When you go in, try the Lemondrop cupcake and Peanut Butter cupcake. Heavenly experience!

I was so excited about this place! I ordered 4 dozen mini cupcakes for my sons 1 st birthday and asked for white frosting with red laces to look like a baseball. I could have done it but knew I wouldn't have time. Plus to ensure they look good, I wanted to get them professionally done. I couldn't wait to pick them up! As my husband and I walked in the girl at the counter said "here they are. I'm sorry." Not a good sign. I look at them and they look like they were done by a 10 year old. They look horrible! I hope they taste better than they look. I could have done a way better job. She used a big frosting tip instead of a fine tipped one so the red laces are goopy, globby, and way too big. $100 worth of cupcakes and they look horrible! I am so disappointed. EDIT My card was refunded for those items. I understand someone new in training but when i called back is when he could have said, " i am sorry I am new" I would have understood that over him saying, "well we aren't going to bring them to you". I appreciate that you responded.

We ordered cupcakes for a coworkers birthday. Have never tried this place and like to keep money local. However, we ordered 1 of the cupcakes to be put in it's own box and a happy birthday pick for the top (both at additional charges) when the cupcakes arrived they were all in 1 box together and no happy birthday. And the special cake was supposed to have white pearls... nothing! Just white frosting! I called the store and asked about the order. The man that answered was less than pleasant. He said well the order didn't come through right. OK but I got charged for the extras. He said well I can't bring them to you. I was told that they would credit the extras back. We will see! Do better people. I am in the customer service business and this is unacceptable not sure we will...

Pros: Friendly staff, bright and clean store. Great variety of products. The cupcakes had a surprisingly large cake portion and were very moist! The carrot cake cupcake and icing was one of the best carrot cakes I've tried. Cons: I have a huge sweet tooth, and rarely find anything too sweet, however, I needed a cup of coffee to balance out the dense cake and frosting. I struggled to find the amaretto flavor in the wedding cake cupcake. The lemon buttercream that topped the lemon drop cupcake was really grainy, but the flavor was good. The chocolate cream and chocolate obsession were far too stodgy and sweet. I was comparing the chocolate cupcakes to my experience with Gigi's Cupcakes; which are light and fluffy-not dense and claggy...so I was disappointed. In the end: Disappointment × $4/cupcake=An experience that I really wanted to savor, but...
