My wife and I worked with a lady her. Her name starts with a B. We like what we saw and it was pricey to ever where else. We looked at Ashelys, Demyers, RC Willey, and some of the high end places in Boise. We wanted to see all of our options. We found that we liked Ethan Allen over all. We worked with her for about a month. We told her we are looking and wanting to get prices. She kept asking our budget and she rattled off starting around $5k and $10k. I was very shocked and told her we do not know yet even though we did. Never want them to know. She talked a lot about what she did before EA and I took it as she was putting her self on a totem pole. I told her that we are looking at a lot of things we want to do and buying from EA will be a long process. I told her that we are looking unit solar. She started to rattle off that she sells solar with a company she never said and can get us a great deal. She was pushie about the solar too along with buying EA from her. She did not listen well not ask right questions. She came over to look at our house to give us a floor plan of what will work for us etc. We did get a blinds quote too. When we went into EA to she her presentation. She got us some coffee and water. The water glass I was used and had Chao stick on it from who ever used it before. Wife told me after I had some water. It was okay, some colors we did not like. We did look at fabric for a short time. She kept pushing items we did not really want and would be a waste of money to us. Like a small table against the wall when you walk in and stools that go under it. Very pricey too for them. Over all it was good and most but not all we liked. When it came to the blinds, she did not like the fact we priced them out dyi from Lowe's or getting a quote from budget blinds. EA and Bab were very close in price but BB was having a 1/2 for president day sale. They could not beat that plus BB install was half of EA. She kept pushing us to buy and to find out our budget. She had expected us to buy right then and was very upset that w did not. She started to say, I spent 15 hours on this presentation and then stopped. Again, she did not ask the right questions nor listen to us. Needless to say, if we do buy from EA, it will not...
Read moreWorking with talented designer Val Hartl was as joy filled an experience for interior design and home goods buying as we've had across the six cities we've lived in with eight homes among them. It was rewarding for us too as Val guided our decisions for area rug, chairs and upholstery for an update of our home office and in the process we discovered finishing touches of pillows and ottoman for our great room. We are grateful to Val for creating something that feels “…just like us only better..." in ways we could not have envisioned without her help. Designer service is free to shoppers at Ethan Allen but it is also priceless with experienced professionals like Val in the mix. Ethan Allen was not a brand we used much in other cities where we lived and where we shopped furnishings above this price point. But limited access to options in Boise and very good experience with this local store owner (the Boise Ethan Allen is one of very few in the US that is not corporate owned) and a designer who worked here seven years ago as well as being pleased with the quality of the Ethan Allen products we purchased is what brought us back to the showroom this time. This time for an excellent design experience with Val. Re the showroom layout, since my wife is a shopper and buyer who has had multiple sclerosis since college years, I'll offer that this Ethan Allen is not only light and bright but accessible to people of all physical abilities. And Ethan Allen has products for buyers across all price points and ages and stages of home ownership and with design styles, from mid-Century to contemporary to...
Read moreTruly exemplary! We previously purchased a pair of swivel chairs and were tickled with how beautifully they turned out. The designer worked tenaciously to find exactly the right fabric to match the existing room. The result was stunning. But the true genius of the Ethan Allen team became apparent on a subsequent order which did not play out according to script. When a custom upholstery order went wrong, Ethan Allen immediately turned the challenge over to their project manager Julie Bonner. Julie then moved heaven and earth to "make it right". From consoling voice messages assuring Ethan Allen's commitment to our satisfaction, to basically redoing the project, enlisting additional designers, personally overseeing each step of the redo, answering each of our calls in s timely fashion, and continuing to assist with a subsequent order, Julie personified excellence artistically and practically. The end result was in a word, magical. We could not be happier with the Ethan Allen products, the Ethan Allen personel, and the Ethan Allen commitment to actual customer service. Well done indeed on...
