Following up on JCP response to my previous review (below) dated "May 24th...." The corporate/"owner" response invites those with negative reviews to call a 1-800 number. DON'T BOTHER! NOTHING.WILL BE RESOLVED. NOTHING WILL CHANGE. Calling the 1-800 number.and navigating thru 2 call menus, eventually connected to a barely-literate woman in the Caribbean. She knows absolutely nothing about the review/response process, where to obtain the information or who to ask. So, I called the Boise Town Square location, asking to.speak to a manager. After recounting the situation with Trudi, her best answer is, That's corporate; not the local store." Sorry, Trudi, but "corporate" is killing your local store.
May 24, 2024. For a 50th anniversary gift, I selected a $1300 diamond ring for my wife. The salesperson invited me to apply for a JCPenney credit card. Having excellent credit, getting approval should be a snap. So I thought. After providing all the necessary information, the salesperson was instructed to call for approval. Through her, I was asked to supply again SS# and phone#. The phone was passed to me, at which time I was transferred to another department. The woman identified herself as being with Fraud Prevention office. When I asked about the name of her office, she said it's also the credit approval office. She asked for an alternate phone number through which I could receive a text and GIVE HER ACCESS TO THAT PHONE. She explained, someone needs to TAKE A PICTURE OF THE FRONT AND BACK OF MY HEAD. They already had enough info to trace my entire financial history! They had my driver's license picture. I told the inquisitor to cancel my credit application. BUT WHAT IS SAID "FRAUD DEPARTMENT" GOING TO DO WITH MY INFORMATION? I'll need to follow up with the credit bureaus to protect my high score, from a false report. I could pay cash, or with my credit card. Instead, I walked away from making the purchase. On one hand, it's just one $1300 purchase. On the other hand, it was a $1300 sale - if that matters to JCPenney You have my phone numbers. I expect a call from...
Read moreI am writing to express my disappointment with the experience my family and I had at your store 300 N Milwaukee St, Boise, ID 83704 Unfortunately, the level of customer service we received was far from welcoming, and I left the store feeling frustrated and unheard. The issue arose when I attempted to take advantage of a Buy One, Get One 50% Off sale. The signage in the store made no mention of any restrictions regarding brands or mixing and matching, yet when I proceeded to check out, I was told that the discount only applied if both items were from the same brand. This was not clearly communicated anywhere, and the store itself was advertised as being 50% off. When I tried to clarify the promotion, the employee was not only unhelpful but also rude and dismissive. Instead of providing a clear explanation or offering assistance, they raised their voice at me, making me feel belittled and embarrassed in front of other customers. This kind of behavior is unacceptable, and it does not align with the level of service I expect from a well-known retailer like JCPenney. I believe that if there are restrictions on promotions, they should be clearly posted to avoid confusion and ensure transparency. Additionally, employees should be properly trained to handle customer concerns professionally and respectfully. No customer should feel as though they are being misled or mistreated when shopping. I would appreciate a response regarding this matter, as well as clarification on your sales policies moving forward. I hope that my feedback will encourage better training and clearer promotional signage to prevent similar experiences for other customers. Thank you for your time, and I look forward to...
Read moreI took the cart they provide down the escalator.. I did not see a sign saying not to that on the way up, so when I was done in the men’s dept I took the cart back on escalator to go down. There was an employee several steps down from me, she turned and saw me and immediately started telling me that was not allowed, there are signs, I was putting her in danger , I should have taken the elevator, etc.. then she told me “ in fact., I am going to get behind you” so she walked towards me, squeezed by my cart and got behind me.. and continued to tell me how I put her in danger.. I asked for her name because she was so rude, but she told me I didn’t need to know that . Once we got off the escalator she walked past another empty who I assume was in some sort of management position and said something to her. As I passed the same girl she asked me if I needed help. I told her that employee was rude, but was not expecting her to do anything just to make her aware. This person proceeded to lecture me on the dangers of taking anything other than a person on the escalator, and that girl was in fear.. I told her that I was sorry that I did not see any signs and I was not discounting the other woman’s fear, but if she was so fearful, she could have continued to step down the escalator. Instead she chose to walk towards the danger and squeeze past us. And then I was like you know what..I’m not spending a penny here anymore. I left my cart with the manager and walked out. No wonder there was hardly anyone in the store if this is the...
