When my family and I used to visit relatives in Alabama, stopping at Roses was always part of the trip — a little tradition that gave us something to look forward to before heading home. So today, when we saw a Roses location we hadn’t visited before, we decided to stop by. As always, the store had great deals — I won’t take that away from them. But what happened at checkout completely soured the experience.
There was a bit of a line at the first register, and the cashier at the second one, Briana, asked if we were paying with card. My fiancé answered with a simple, polite "yes." That should have been a straightforward interaction — but instead of welcoming us over, she muttered something under her breath that we couldn’t fully make out. We were left standing there confused, unsure if she was actually offering to help us or just venting frustration. She made no clear invitation or direction.
Then, out of nowhere, she snapped, raising her voice and saying, “Come on, it’s my time to go,” while waving her arm in a dismissive, impatient, and frankly rude manner. Not only was her tone completely unprofessional, but her body language made it obvious she didn't want to help us and was more concerned about clocking out than treating customers with basic respect.
Customer service is the backbone of any retail experience. No matter how good the prices are, if the staff treat customers like an inconvenience — especially with open hostility — it ruins the whole visit. I’ve worked in customer service, and I understand bad days happen, but there’s a difference between being tired and being outright rude.
It’s disappointing to see a store that has always meant something positive to me and my family tainted by this kind of behavior. Briana’s attitude was uncalled for, unprofessional, and disrespectful. If Roses wants to keep its reputation and loyal customers, they need to seriously address the kind of customer service being offered at this location. No one should leave a store feeling disrespected and...
Read moreSo I was in there today. The cashier first of all had ear buds in her ear. Honey you’re in customer service. How can you hear the customer with ear buds? She asked me did a blanket I bought have a tag. I said no I asked my husband would he go get another one. He took the blanket to the back to get a identical one. He came back with a different one and she asked where was the one he took back there? My husband said he left it she immediately rolled her eyes. Then she proceeded to ring up my stuff but through a shirt behind her that was in my stuff. At the end of her ringing up my stuff I asked her why didn’t she ring up my shirt? She said it didn’t have a tag! I asked her why didn’t she tell me? She swore she did I told her she didn’t . She basically told me that if I wanted to argue she was willing to participate. I told her I’m not doing all that put my bags in the buggy and walked away. I’ve been in roses plenty of times . I don’t live on that side of town but when I do come in I’ve never had a cashier that treated me nasty like this young lady did. If you don’t want to be in customer service get your CDLs and hit the road for the...
