The day before I planned to hang 42 pieces in a local coffee shop, I started to panic about not having the right wires for some of my heavier pieces. For the previous couple of weeks I had been trying to find strong wires with loops and hooks that would support these pieces, but I started looking too late and I couldn't find anything that looked sturdy enough that could be delivered in time. I thought about the great system we have in the photography gallery that I am a member of and wished I had something like that. Impulsively, a little after noon, I went online and did another search for wires and hooks that looked like what was in the gallery. It didn't take long to find exactly what I was seeking at Gallery Art Systems. I knew it was a long shot that I could get these delivered in time for my hanging the next afternoon, but I called to ask, just in case. The phone was answered by a woman named Debbi who was friendly and kind from the start. She understood exactly which products I wanted and was able to check to see if my gallery had purchased its system from them (it did). To my delight, Debbi said that they would be able to send the wires and hooks for next-day morning delivery. The cost was quite reasonable. I received the package hours before I was heading to the coffee shop to set up. Everything worked out perfectly and I am...
Read moreAfter a downsizing move into a new condo which has a long continuous wall in the main room, the Gallery System Art Display was the obvious choice to have an easily changeable display of my artwork - for our enjoyment and also for visits from potential collectors. The system itself is simple to install and use, although my condo’s steel and concrete construction was a challenge to drill the installation holes. But once done, no more holes need to be drilled! Recently on the Gallery System blog, there was a suggestion for hanging works as a vertical stack, which sometimes causes them to angle away from the wall. The easy solution is to use two cables, which corrects any angles, keeping the work parallel to the wall. I would highly recommend the Gallery System Art Display, especially where hammering lots of nails in the wall would be...
Read moreGallery System's products are excellent, but I'm writing this today because their customer service goes above and beyond. I recently placed an order for some additional hooks to go with the track system I've had for about a year. Anne Silber at Gallery System contacted me by phone and email the next day to inform me that the hooks I'd just ordered weren't the same as the ones I'd ordered in the past—they were larger and more expensive. Were these the ones I really wanted? If not, she'd be happy to change my order. I looked on the website again. Anne's question to me was well founded. I'd ordered the wrong hooks! I wrote back, thanking her for catching my error and affirming that yes, I'd greatly appreciate it if she could change my order, which she did. Thank you, Anne! I can personally attest that Gallery System looks out for...
