Cafe Edesia — Restaurant in Gardner

I never write reviews but I’ve noticed that none there’s no real recent reviews of this place. I’ve been coming to Cafe Edesia before it was even called that, it’s been an amazing spot for years for me. However, I’ve noticed that in recent weeks-months it’s declining. Ever since the owner took over the Hen House, the quality of food and consistency, has decreased. Yesterday, (1/13/25) me and my partner both ordered sandwiches with Turkey on it, we both ended up getting food poisoning from it. The sandwiches both tasted like what cow manure smelled like. I couldn’t even finish mine because of it. I am pretty sure the Turkey on our sandwiches was spoiled. I’m saddened to say this but this isn’t the first time that they’ve done this. Sometimes my sandwiches will have dirty avocados or wilted vegetables. I don’t know what’s been going on recently but with the raised prices and our health being tested to eat here, we will not be returning for a while. I’ve even gone inside and have seen moldy baked goods on display. I advise everyone to be careful eating here, you might end up getting sick. I hope this place can become a bit more careful with their food products...

Went to Cafe Edesia with a friend today. We were the only ones in there. We ordered two mocha smoothies with chocolate protein, I presented a gift card and my debit card for payment, the front girl called her supervisor over to process it, my friend noticed to the side of the register that there was an alternate menu with specials so she asked If she could change her order - the supervisor replied “it’s already in the computer and the price will change” - keep in mind they hadn’t processed my payment yet or even started to make the smoothies. We replied okay and hesitated because we were expecting them to ask what it was she wanted to change her order to. She did not. They made the smoothies and only put 1 scoop of protein in the blender (for 2 smoothies). The smoothie tasted like Hershey’s chocolate milk and the cups were not even filled all the way and the girl who had made the smoothies poured the rest of the smoothie mixture down the drain. We had to come home and add in more ingredients to the smoothie because it was that bad. Definitely would not recommend. Poor service and poor food. Will not...

I am beyond grateful a friend suggested Cafe Edesia to me because it is fantastic. My food/beverages are made perfectly each time I go and it is evident they hold themselves to a high standard. This time was especially positive. I had my husky waiting in my running car parked right outside the door while I ran in for a quick to-go order. I mentioned that I would come back inside shortly to pick up my order, but the scattered thunderstorms had her scared so I wanted to check on her. A few minutes later as I’m about to come inside to get my order, it is brought out to me with a smile and “I figured I’d save you the trip!”. Glacier was thrilled 🙌🏼. During these crazy times, any act of kindness goes such a long way. I am so appreciative of the service and quality here that it has quickly become a regular stop.
