Sorrento’s Brick Oven Pizzeria — Restaurant in Gardner

I never write reviews, but just had an unfortunate experience with the owner on the phone. I have a son with food allergies and this is the only take-out pizza he has ever been able to eat in his life. I make everything from scratch for him. It is a real treat for our family to be able to get pizza from here. This morning, I spoke to the owner about placing an order. I am always very careful to articulate and double check the order, with my son's allergies. The owner told me at first that he would prefer not to serve us. I was confused, since we ordered a pizza for my son, without issue, last month. I was clearly irritating the owner during the conversation and apologized, to which he responded that I was driving him crazy and being annoying. I was so floored. I cried (so stupid, yes I know) because this had been so important to our son, and told him that we would never be ordering from him again -such a horrible way to treat people, and especially a mother who is ordering for her son's needs. This is such a shame on so many levels. We were patrons long before we had a son with food allergies ( age 8) and had always recommended this place to others....

I give them two stars only because the pizza tasted good. Though the quality of the pizza was not good soft crust and a soggy center every time I order a pizza from there. I figured the first couple times it was a fluke it’s been a year or so since I ordered last. Oven temperature to low maybe or could it be the pizza dough? To make matters worse I ordered my girlfriend the Spicy Chicken Caesar Salad. They couldn’t even remember the Spicy Caesar Dressing the dressing is the only reason she wanted the salad, they also put off wilted lettuce in the salad oh and the cucumbers and tomatoes requested to add in the salad, yup couldn’t remember to add those either. Pathetic! Considering they advertise “ At Sorrento's we serve delicious Brick Oven Pizza made from fresh, quality ingredients” disgrace. This the last time I will order Sorrento’s Pizza time and time again they are a disappointment and for the price$ don’t wast your hard earned money on these overpriced soggy pies and...

Absolutely awful, unfortunately. Ordered sandwiches from here a few weeks ago and experienced the following problems: long wait for delivery, both sandwiches were soggy and of questionable quality, the lettuce and tomatoes were on the edge of expiration, one of the sandwiches was a completely different type than ordered, staff member was rude when called back to have the order corrected, even longer wait to receive correct order. Decided to give them another try tonight, thinking that perhaps their pizza was better quality than sandwiches, and received a lukewarm pizza with flat & chewy crust which was burnt around the entire outside edge. Ordered (and was charged for) extra cheese but it seemed to have less cheese than a normal pizza from anywhere else, and the "bacon" was mostly thick chunks of undercooked bacon fat. Their prices are honestly quite fair compared to other similar restaurants in this area, but definitely not worth receiving food that's...
