As someone who lived in San francisco for 20 years and had amazing Chinese food ....really disappointed. What happened to Jade? They were actually good and my husband who grew up on west coast is hard to impress with Chinese food. The Hong Kong steamed bun with roast pork dim sum was raw and undercooked dough. The Shumai was a tiny piece of shrimp on top of imitation crabmeat wrapped in noodle....that's not Shumai it's supposed to have ground pork and actual shrimp. The Mongolian beef was ok but not spicy as we asked for.. why are all Chinese restaurants here afraid to make something spicy?? That's why I always ask for chilli sauce. The General Tsos chicken we got free with coupon since order over $40 was mediocre and tolerable yet we are scared how we will feel in a few hoursas hoping things were fresh. The rice wasn't even cooked? The lobby may be all clean and pretty and nice staff but that is window dressing and doesn't matter if the food is not authentic. Not happy at all and that's almost $50 I threw away and I am not working so pretty pissed. We had high hopes but sadly not worth it. Now I have a headache and feel lethargic...not the way supposed to feel after eating authentic chinese...
Read moreI ordered for delivery. It came faster than expected. General Tso's chicken tasted good, but same issue as with other Gardner Chinese restaurants, they label it SPICY HOT, it's supposed to be SPICY HOT, but it's not SPICY HOT anywhere in Gardner. The chicken teriyaki (biggest chunk of chicken breast meat I've ever seen on a chicken teriyaki! Beautiful!) and beef teriyaki were really good and the chicken Lo Mein was very good. But the $9 (the only over-priced item in my opinion) SMALL boneless ribs were over-cooked, very burned/hard/dry and most were un-chewable and they were soaking in a sea of grease and the red sauce is so bland/practically tasteless it literally just leaves a grease after taste. I miss Jade II and am hoping the cook can make some improvements here in their place. I'm rooting for you. Prices have gone up, quality has gone way down. You all can do...
Read moreI have only tried this once! I got my usual favorite, a number 26 with lo mein instead of fried rice, and the spare ribs were charred and chewy and I did not like the egg roll. The chicken was very good though and the lo mein was perfect! I'd like to try something else because everything is new, clean and the staff is so nice but I will definitely avoid that again! The last time I looked, their menu was identical to Kenny's, hence why I got my favorite. I knew it was going to be different and was hoping it would be better. The general tso's chicken was definitely better, but I will stick to Kenny's for egg rolls and spare...
