Gabe's — Local services in Gastonia

This review is for a transaction that occurred on 6/19/24 between 9-10AM. I was returning some items that my daugther could not wear that was in a layaway. The lady at the register (Eyelashes/Blonde Hair extensions) , told me that she could not find the layaway in the system despite having ALL receipts from the time the layaway was put in to the very last receipt which was taken out on 5/31 for a total of about 5 receipts. None, she mentioned, did not pull up for her. She proceeded to say that no returns/exchanges are given after 30 days AFTER the layaway is initially placed. The policy states that returns are given after 30 days you receive a layaway, which in our case, our 30 days would have been up on 6/30 since we got out our layaway out on 5/31.Today is 6/19 so clearly our 30 days is not up yet. How can you return something in layaway if the items are not in your possession and you are still paying on it????? Makes no sense AT ALL! We did go back in later that day and they were able to "Mysteriously" pull up our acct, SMH! GABE'S: PLEASE HIRE STORE ASSOCIATES THAT KNOW THE POLICY INSIDE AND OUT. This caused unnecessary time wasted and multiple trips to resolve for items that were only worth 10$....

Came here for the first time after being told that this location is better than the one in Hickory because it's larger. Yeah, not even close, the Hickory location far outstrips this one.

Honestly the most chaotic, messy store I've ever been in. It makes no sense at all. Tried to find my son some 2T pjs, and I wandered around the toddler section for 10min, there was literally 0 organization. Girls, boys, all the sizes, seasons, totally mixed together in such a haphazard way, I never found the pjs.

Next, went to the section labeled activewear. It was such chaos, clothes of all sizes, shapes and styles but the only activewear I found was a small rack of plus size tops. The clothing racks look like the rejected clothes hanging outside a dressing room. No organization whatsoever. It is a large store with a lot of clothes, so finding anything is impossible unless you have lots of time on your hands. And honestly it's just not worth the time since the prices are the same as Ross, TJ Maxx, Burlington, etc. so save yourself some time and just go to one of those instead.

This store truly needs a reset very, very badly. It's pure chaos. Wasn't able to buy anything because I couldn't find anything...

I used to really enjoy Gabe’s. I loved their scrub selection. But the last few times I’ve been the store has been disgusting and the dressing rooms have been closed. How do they expect people to purchase clothes if the fitting rooms are closed ? I asked one employee if I could try them on and she told me no but I could try them on in the isles I told her I couldn’t get a get fit if I had to try them on over my clothing and she told me it would be okay if I TOOK MY CLOTHES OFF AND TRIED THEM ON. I let her know I wasn’t comfortable doing that and she said a lot of people are ! Like what ?!?!?!! I even offered to put my clothes I didn’t want back on the racks where they belong and they still said no to trying on clothes. It’s honestly ridiculous and I don’t plan...
